IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic
safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER.
DANGER: As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically
live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
- Always “unplug it” immediately after using.
- DO NOT use while bathing.
- DO NOT place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
- DO NOT use near, place in or drop into water or other liquid.
- If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately. DO NOT reach into the water.
- DO NOT use an appliance with a twisted, bent or otherwise damaged cord.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electrocution, or injury to persons:
-
An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in. Turn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord when not in use.
-
Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near children or individuals with certain disabilities.
-
Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. DO NOT use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
-

-
Keep the safety stand extended forward while in use.
-

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. Keep
heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and hair spray. If cleaning
becomes necessary, unplug the appliance from the power source and clean with a
damp cloth. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist prior to use.
WARNING : If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair. This appliance has no user-serviceable parts.
STORAGE
Unplug appliance when not in use.
Allow appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry
location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance since this will cause the
cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle cord carefully for longer life and
avoid jerking, bending sharply, twisting, or straining cord, especially at
plug connections.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance may have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
HOW TO USE
IMPORTANT: During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and a slight odor. This is normal and will quickly disappear.
• Keep heated surfaces away from contact with all skin areas. Do not touch
barrels with fingertips.
• For shorter hair, place a thin plastic comb between scalp and iron to avoid
touching scalp.
• Test small section of hair to determine correct heat setting for type of
hair
PREHEATING
- Plug the waver into an electrical outlet and slide the On/Off Switch to the “On” position.
- Set the Temperature Dial at the desired position, and allow waver to heat.
It takes 60-90 seconds to heat up. For best results, allow waver to heat for 2-3 minutes before using.
CAUTION: Wavers with heat-control dials operate at high temperatures when used on high settings. When using for the first time, begin with the LOWEST setting. Please read all instructions carefully before using. For best results, follow these guidelines:
TEMPERATURE SETTINGS
Heat Selection Hair Type
280°F – 330°F For fine, thin hair
330°F – 380°F For wavy, medium-textured hair
380°F – 410°F For thick, coarse hair
Warning: Be very careful when using your waver as the barrels get very hot in the higher temperature settings.
STYLING
For styling, hair should be clean and dry.
- Comb or brush out a two-inch wide section of hair and place between barrels.
- You will achieve the best results if you work from the scalp to the ends of your hair. Lightly clamp the hair strand close to the scalp. Close clamp and hold the waver in this position for a few seconds, depending on the type of hair (5 seconds for fine hair and up to 8 seconds for medium to coarse hair).
- To release, simply release the handles and let the hair slip out.
- The waving process requires some overlapping; match the outermost wave of your hair with the barrels and hold in position again for a few seconds. Repeat the process until you have achieved the look you desire.
- When styling is complete, slide the On/Off Switch to the “Off” position and unplug the styling tool.
- Allow the hair to cool before combing, brushing, or touching.
Storage Loop
When styling is finished, turn the switch to “OFF,” unplug the appliance and
allow it to cool. To store the appliance, use the thumb grip to press the
barrels together, then push the storage loop up and hook it into the groove at
the end of the thumb grip. DO NOT fasten the storage loop in the closed
position while styling. Locking the heated waver onto the hair can cause
serious damage to the hair.
