OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance may have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to force the plug into an improper outlet. For U.S. residents only: In the event of an unusual circumstance such as immersion, the protective device will not allow the dryer to operate. Periodically check the safety plug to verify it is in proper working order. Plug the appliance in an electrical outlet and press the test button. The dryer should stop immediately. To resume operation, press the reset button.
Worldwide Dual Voltage
To change the voltage, use a small screwdriver. Be certain the appliance is
“off.” The 125-volt position is used for North America; several overseas
countries require 250 voltage. For a 250-volt connection, use a Plug Adapter
of the proper configuration.
IMPORTANT NOTE : The dryer switch must be in and remain in the “low” operating position when using 250 volts. This is normal for dual-voltage appliances.
Styling Tips
- Gently towel-dry hair to remove excess water.
- Set dryer on highest setting and speed and circulate the airflow through your hair. Do not concentrate airflow on any one area.
- When hair is almost completely dry, lower heat and speed setting and begin to style hair as desired.
- Use the concentrator attachment for a more directed airflow. To use, attach the concentrator to the air outlet. To remove, allow dryer and attachment to cool, then gently pull away from dryer.
- The Finger Diffuser will soften the airflow from the hair dryer. To use, attach the finger diffuser to the air outlet. Allow diffuser fingers to run gently over the scalp while drying. To remove, allow dryer and attachment to cool, then gently pull away from dryer.
- Push the Cool Shot Button to set the style with cool air once you’ve achieved the desired style.
- When drying is complete, wait for the appliance to cool before storing. Do not wrap the cord around the dryer. Use the Hanging Ring. This keeps the cord from tangling and wearing prematurely.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR LINT FILTER(S)
- LINT FILTERS DIFFER FROM DRYER TO DRYER. Some dryers have a filter inside the Removable End Cap as well as an internal filter inside the air intake. Others have only an internal lint filter inside the air intake grill.
- CLEAN THE LINT FILTER DAILY. This will extend the life of your dryer and prevent it from overheating and shutting off.
- Remove the end cap by rotating counter-clockwise until it detaches from the dryer.
- Remove dust and lint from the internal lint filter using a brush, fingers or a vacuum cleaner.
- Your dryer may also have a lint filter attached to the Removable End Cap. If it does, clean that filter in the same manner, removing dust and lint from both the inside and outside of the filter.
- To replace the end cap, align the end cap’s tabs with the indentations inside the back grill of the hair dryer. Rotate the end cap clockwise until it locks into place.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is equipped with a thermostat that may cycle OFF or cause the heaters to turn off if the temperature exceeds comfort level due to partially blocked air inlet or outlet openings. In the event that the appliance stops or releases only cool air during use, turn off the switches and allow the appliance to cool down, at which time the thermostat will automatically reset. During use, DO NOT block the air openings. When using this appliance near water (e.g., bathrooms), the use of an electrical outlet protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter is recommended.
Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. Keep
heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and hair spray. If cleaning
becomes necessary, unplug the appliance from the power source and wipe the
exterior with a damp cloth. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist prior to use.
WARNING: If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair. This appliance has no user-serviceable parts.
STORAGE
- Unplug appliance when not in use.
- Allow appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry location.
- Never wrap the cord around the appliance since this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break.
