Kobra 2 Plus V2.3.5 Firmware Upgrade Guide

Tips

  1. This upgrade spans a wide range, please make sure to follow the “Guide” and do not skip any steps.
  2. If upgrading via USB, the file must be named “update” and placed in the root directory of the USB drive, or it will not be recognized.
  3. After Updating the firmware. In the main interface, click on the “Tools” icon ➜ “Control” icon ➜ “Module Calibration” ➜ “Position Calibration.” The machine will automatically perform detection and pause near the top of the calibration module. You could adjust the nozzle to the centre position of the calibration module using the distance units and X/Y axis movement direction on the interface. Once done, click “Save,” and finally, perform the automatic levelling again.

Upgrade Features

  1. The app is now available, supporting the Kobra 2 Plus model. You can scan to bind the machine and experience cloud services.
  2. Supports remote one-click printing. The app will automatically perform online slicing, and file transfer, and automatically start the printing task.
  3. The app allows you to remotely view the printer’s status, real-time monitoring of the printing progress and parameters.
  4. You’ll receive app notifications for print completion, cancellation, and errors, keeping you informed about the latest developments.
  5. The app can control the printing process, supporting remote cancellation, pause, resume, remote debugging of printing parameters, and more.
  6. The app can access local/U-disk files on the device for management and initiating printing.
  7. Added a cloud file feature to the device, with interesting models being pushed from time to time.
  8. Anycubic Slicer software update, supporting device binding and sending print jobs.
  9. The device has a screen always-on option.
  10. Fixes firmware bugs.

Upgrade Steps

  • This firmware upgrade can be done in two ways: “OTA upgrade” or “USB upgrade.”

OTA Upgrade

Connect to Wi-Fi

  • Plug in the device and turn it on. On the main interface, click on the “Settings” icon, then “Cloud,” “WLAN,” and activate the “WLAN” option. The device will automatically search for nearby 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signals.
  • Select the corresponding Wi-Fi signal, input the password, and the device will connect to Wi-Fi when the Wi-Fi icon on the left turns blue.

Upgrade Firmware

  • For readability, the images in the following illustration show all the available options, which may differ from the actual device interface. Please follow the prompts below:
  • Click on the top-left corner ” < ” icon to return to the Settings interface. Click “More Settings,” “About
  • Machine,” and the red arrow icon. The device will prompt you to confirm the upgrade. After confirming, the firmware upgrade will automatically complete within 3 minutes.
  • If you find that the upgrade is taking a longer time, please try an alternative upgrade method.

Device Calibration

  • After the firmware upgrade is complete, the device will automatically restart. Once the device restarts, it will prompt you to go through the setup process again. Please do not skip this setup.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.

If you do not receive a prompt, follow these steps

  • On the main screen, click on “Settings.”Click on “More Settings.”On the next screen, click on “Guide.”It will be asked if you want to enter the user guide; click “Confirm” to proceed. This will ensure that the device is properly calibrated after the firmware upgrade.

Version Confirmation

  • Go to “Settings,” “More Settings,” and “About Machine,” and check if the firmware version has been upgraded to V2.3.5.

USB Upgrade

Download Firmware Package

  • Download the V2.3.5 version firmware package from the official website. Once downloaded, unzip the file to your computer and then copy the “update” file to a USB drive. Make sure the filename is “update.”

Upgrade Firmware

  • For your convenience, please note that some images in the following guide may show all options, which may differ slightly from your device’s actual interface. Please follow the prompts accordingly.
  • Plug in the power cord and turn on the device. Insert the USB drive into one of the USB ports on the front side of the Kobra 2 Plus.
  • Note that there are three USB ports on the device’s base, with the leftmost one being for the camera, and the other two for USB drives.
  • Make sure you insert the USB drive into the correct port.

  • On the main screen, click on the “Settings” icon. Next, click on “More Settings.”In the subsequent screen, click on the next page option.
  • Then, click on “About Machine. Check if there is a “red arrow” upgrade indicator on the right side of the firmware version. click on the indicator.
  • A confirmation dialog will appear, asking if you want to upgrade the firmware. click on “Confirm” The firmware upgrade process will automatically complete within 3 minutes.
  • If you find yourself waiting for an extended period, try closing the device and using a different USB drive to repeat the process.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Guide

If there is a levelling anomaly, please follow the steps below to check:

  1. After powering off, check the wiring of the levelling calibration module to ensure it is connected properly. Then, restart the machine.
  2. Press [Tools]-[Control]-[Module Calibration]-[Position Calibration]. Use the [X Move) and [Y Move] options on the screen to move the nozzle to the centre point of the calibration module. Once done, click on [Save). Afterwards, perform the levelling operation again.
