Exclamation symbol

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product.

Lightning symbol

The lightning with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the pressence of uninsulated “Dangerous Voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical shock to a person.
Light bulb symbol
The light bulb is intended to alert the user of important information or a detailed explanation.

Important safety instructions

  5. Do not use this apparatus near water.
  6. Clean only with a dry cloth.
  7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus that produces heat.
  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding-type plug. A grounding-type plug has two pins and a third grounding prong. The third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

REMOTE CONTROL

To control the CD player the CD key should be pressed.

  3. Numerical buttons 0-9 Direct selection and input of tracks on CD.

  4. CD Selects the remote for operation with a Lyngdorf CD Player.

  5. Up / Down / Left / Right Scrolls through the menu functions.

  6. Enter Confirms actions in menu mode.

  7. Info
    Toggles between showing additional CD information (e.g album name, song name, and artist), if available.

  8. Menu
    Activates or de-activates the Menu system.

  9. Skip / Scan / Play / Pause

  10. Random / Stop / Repeat

FRONT PANEL

  1. Play / Select
    • Push to Play and Pause. In the menu mode pushing is used as the select- function.
    • Holding down the button will access the main menu.
    • Turn the wheel to skip left and right between tracks or menu items.

The functionality of each of the menu items are:

CD Play Mode

  • Normal Play
  • Repeat Entire Disc
  • Repeat One Track
  • Random Play

CD-Text Display
Shows additional CD information (e.g. album name, song name, and artist) if available.
When turned On, track information will be reduced in height.
Time Display
Show Remaining Time:

  • Yes
  • No

Dig. Out Sample Rate
Chooses the sample rate of the digital outputs.

  • 44.1 kHz (16 bit, no sample rate conversion)
  • 48 kHz (24 bit)
  • 96 kHz (24 bit)(default)
  • 192 kHz (24 bit)

Analog Out Gain
Adjusts the gain on the analog outputs in 0.5 dB steps from -12.0 dB to 0.0 dB.
Display Timeout
The timeout can be set to On or Off. On is a 10 second display timeout.
Auto Off
Auto off will automatically turn off the CD-2 after it being idle for 5 minutes.

Advanced

  • Software info
    Displays the firmware version.

  • Power On State
    When the CD-2 is turned on it can either play the CD automatically or standby.

  • Factory Reset
    Resets the CD-2 to the factory default settings.

  • Software update

To update the CD-2 with new firmware do the following:

  1. Download the new firmware from www.Lyngdorf.com
  2. Upload it to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB stick.
  3. Go to Software Update in the Advanced menu of the CD-2 and click Yes.
  4. The display should show “Updating: Name of firmware file”.
  5. When fully updated, the CD-2 will go to standby mode.

Exit Menu
Exits the menu.

NOTES OF IMPORTANCE

Unpacking the CD-2
Carefully remove the unit and accessory kit from the carton, visually check for shipping damage.
Contact both the shipper and your Lyngdorf Audio representative immediately if the unit bears any sign of damage from mishandeling. All Lyngdorf Audio equipment is carefully inspected before leaving our factory.
Keep shipping carton and packing material for future use or in the event that the unit needs servicing. If this unit is shipped without the original packing, damage could occur and void the warranty.

Operating Voltage
Check the label on the CD-2 rear panel and verify you have the version with the proper voltage for your area.
Connect the power input only to the AC source printed on the label. The warranty will not cover any damage caused by connecting to the wrong type of AC mains.

Cleaning and Maintenance
This unit does not require any regular maintenance except to keep its exterior clean. Simply wipe its exterior with a clean soft cloth. A small amount of non-abrasive cleaner may be used on the cloth to remove any excessive dirt or fingerprints. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaners containing liquid solvents.
Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet before cleaning.

CONNECTORS

Mains Connector
Mains voltage to the CD-2 is applied via an IEC320 type connector. The supplied cable with safety ground should be used to connect the CD-2 to a mains outlet.

Connect the power input only to the AC source printed on the label and the setting shown on the voltage selector switch. The warranty will not cover any damage caused by connecting to the wrong type of AC mains.
Always disconnect the CD-2 from the mains before changing any connections to its inputs or outputs.

Analog outputs
The unbalanced RCA outputs are wired in accordance with normal practice:
Shell: Shield/Ground.
Pin: Hot (+).
Unbalanced analog output impedance 75 Ohm

The balanced XLR outputs are wired in accordance with IEC268:
Pin 1: Chassis and ground.
Pin 2: Hot (+).
Pin 3: Cold (-).
Shield: Chassis and ground.
Balanced analog output impedance 100 Ohm
