To get the most from your product and to avoid damaging it please read the instruction manual. Here are some key points.
There is a power switch on the back of the unit. (#6)
How it works.
Basically, you put food and water into the bowl and leave it to boil dry.
The cooker detects the bail-dry condition and switches to “keep warm” mode.
Make sure there is enough, but not too much water in the bowl.
Fill with at least 1 cup of water.
Don’t fill above the top of the fill mark.
Don’t cover the appliance or put anything on top of it.
Pon’t damage the coating clean as follows…
Wash the lid, bowl, and rack in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry.
Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
Don’t put any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.
Cooking Times
There are two methods of regulating cooking times:
- Use exactly the right amount of water, and leave the cooker to switch to warm automatically – this is the method used to cook rice.
- Use plenty of water, watch the cooking process, and move the switch up manually when the food is cooked. This is the easiest way to steam “unknowns”, unknown quantities, unknown vegetables, unknown sizes.
When you use method 2, keep notes. Next time, you can use just the right
amount of water, and leave the cooker to do the job on its own (method 1).
Do and Don’t
- Do fill with at least 1 cup of water.
- Do unplug the appliance when not in use
- Don’t put frozen meat or poultry in the appliance – defrost fully before use.
- Cook meat, poultry, and derivatives (mince, burgers, etc.) till the juices run clear. Cook fish till the flesh is opaque throughout.
- Don’t try to cook anything in the body of the cooker – cook only in the removable bowl.
- Don’t reach over the appliance, and keep hands, arms, face, etc.clear of the escaping steam.
- Don’t fill above the top of the fill mark.
- Don’t cover the appliance or put anything on top of it.
- Don’t use accessories or attachments other than those we supply.
- Don’t use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.
