INTRODUCTION

ERECTING YOUR AIR AWNING

  • Congratulations on purchasing a new Dorema Air Awning. We would like to thank you for choosing Dorema and wish you lots of enjoyable camping holidays.
  • With the assistance of your dealer, you will have chosen your correct awning size. If you have any doubts please measure your caravan again before you take the new awning out of its original packing.
  • Please note that awnings that have been on a caravan can not be exchanged.
  1. Before you start to insert the awning into the caravan rail, you first need to check the rail for any sharp edges To prevent any damage from happening to the awning always remove any obstructions. Also, check for any sealant that may restain inside the caravan rail.
  2. After you have unfolded the awning, zip out all the removable panels. By removing those, sliding the awning through the caravan rail will become a lot easier.
  3. You can easily erect the fully inflatable awning. Inflate it by using the supplied hand pump or the optional electric air pump. Select the correct end piece, place it on the hose, and attach it to the valve. Inflate the air tubes up to a pressure of between 10 Psi (= 0,7 bar).
  4. The base frame of the awning can be inflated by using one of the three valves, which are attached to the outside of the awning. It does not matter which valve you choose. Please make sure, both other valves are closed. Dorema recommends using the valve of the center upright to inflate the base frame. This quickly creates extra workspace, which makes it easier to erect. Make sure that the black valves – attached to the inside of the roof – are open when inflating. The markings are placed on the black valves. The black valves connect the main air hoses using a light grey, thinner air hose. If necessary, you can also close the black valves and close the air hoses separately. This is especially useful when looking for a possible leak in the airframe.
  5. The additional roof rails that are in the sewn-on tunnels in the roof and extra uprights can be inflated now and the uprights can be placed in the right position.
  6. The front sun canopy is equipped with integrated inflatable air tubes.
  7. Filling plates are included to compensate for any unevenness on the campsite. These can be used under the corner posts or the center post to stabilize the tubes.
  8. You are now ready to peg the awning with the use of ladder straps and pegs. Always start at the corners. Start at the caravan side with points 1 and 2, then the corners 3 and 4 of the front. Work from the middle points 5 and 6 to both corners. Now you can peg out the rest of the awning.Dorema-350-Daytona-Air-Awning-FIG-3

Tension on the zipper of the front panel.

In case the air tube running from the center corner to either the left or right-hand corner is not completely in the correct position, it will cause too much tension. This air tube is attached to the corners using Velcro and if not 100% fixed in the correct position, the air tube comes under too much pressure, causing too much tension on the zipper. Therefore it is important to check this connection and adjust it if necessary.

  • It is also important to check if the short canopy stub air tube, located on the outside under the awning canopy, is exactly in the correct position.
  • The described situation has no production error and can be adjusted easily.

Optional annex with zip
This inflatable awning offers the opportunity to fit an annex on either the left or right-hand side. Unzip the desired side wall to extend the awning with the annex.

  1. First start to inflate the main air tube, the valve is situated on the outside of the annex.
  2. Next, inflate the supplied roof tube and place it between the side roof beam of the awning and the main tube of the annex.
  3. The canvas of the annex can now be pegged out.
