WAVLINK AC1200 WiFi Router

The product in question is a WAVLINK router. This router offers various features and functionalities to enhance your internet connectivity and network setup. One of the notable features of this router is the ability to operate in AP (Access Point) mode, which allows it to function as an access point for your existing network.
Product Usage Instructions
- Firstly, check if your WAVLINK router has the AP mode option available. If not, follow the instructions provided below.
- Access the web management page of your main router to determine its LAN IP address and DHCP range. For example, if the LAN IP address of your main router is 192.168.19.1 and the DHCP range is 192.168.19.100-192.168.19.200.
- Access the web-based management page of your WAVLINK router.
- Navigate to the LAN setup section on the WAVLINK router’s web management page.
- Change the LAN IP address of your WAVLINK router to 192.168.19.2 (or any other IP address within the same network segment as the main router). Make sure that the IP address you choose is not within the DHCP range of the main router (i.e., not between 192.168.19.100 and 192.168.19.200).
- Disable the DHCP server on your WAVLINK router.
- Connect one of the LAN ports on your WAVLINK router to a LAN port on your main router using an Ethernet cable.
- After making these changes, you will need to access the WAVLINK router’s web management page using the new IP address you set (in this case, 192.168.19.2).
Note: By following these instructions, you can effectively configure your WAVLINK router to operate in AP mode, even if the AP mode option is not available in the router’s settings.
Instructions
If there is no AP mode option with your WAVLINK router, here are the instructions for you.
- It requires change the LAN IP of your WAVLINK router to an IP address on the same network segment of the main router. This IP address should be outside the main router’s DHCP range.
- For example, if the LAN IP of your main router is 192.168.19.1, the DHCP range is 192.168.19.100-192.168. 200 .
- Then you can set the LAN IP address of your WAVLINK router to 192.168.19.2, the same segment but not in the range of 192.168.19.100-192.168.19.200.
- Log into the web management page of your main router to confirm the LAN IP and DHCP range of the main router. Assume that the LAN IP address of the main router is 192.168.19.1, and DHCP range 192.168.19.100-192.168.19.200 as the image below shows
- Log into the web-based management page of the WAVLINK router.
- Go to LAN setup to change the LAN IP of your WAVLINK router to 192.168.19.2 ,make sure the segment of your WAVLINK is same as the main router’s . Then disable the “DHCP” server of your WAVLINK router as below image shows.
- Connect the WAVLINK router to your main router from LAN port to LAN port via an Ethernet cable. NOTE: After change the LAN IP of the WAVLINK router, you will need to log in to the WAVLINK router with the new IP address 192.168.19.2 you set.
