WiFi configuration Tips

Download the Imou life App from the iPhone APP store or Android Google Play
Create your Imou account before you start to make WiFi configuration;
Tips: if you can not receive the email verification code, we suggest you check
if the mail provider blocks the message as spam. Besides, make sure that the
smartphone system ti me is the same as this website:
https://time.is/Beijing (select the corresponding city)
Connect your smartphone to home WiFi network first, then tap “+” on the home page to add your Imou device, scan the QR code sticker on the device;
Tips: If the QR code can not be scanned, you add it manually, select the corresponding model number, then fi ll in the device S/N and safety code; If device information is not available anymore, we suggest that you contact the manufacturer for further help.
Check if the device information is the same as the product label sticker, then follow the hint to connect with device DAP hotspot;
Tips: if your phone fails to connect with device DAP hotspot, pls check below points:
- check if the LED light on the camera flashes green or not. If not, pls hold the reset key for 10s to reset the device to factory settings
- Go to the smartphone WLAN settings page, then check if your phone will detect the device DAP hotspot. If yes, connect to the hotspot manually, password is the 8 bit safety code; If not, it will be the hardware defect on the device WiFi module, contact manufacturer for further help.
- DAP hotspot does not have internet connection. The phone should be connected to this hotspot at this step, then it will be able to detect the WiFi network around this device
Search the WiFi network signals around Imou device, choose your home WiFi network, then enter the password. The device will start to connect to Imou Cloud.
Tips:
No WiFi signal detected:

If no WiFi signal is detected, tap the refresh icon in the upper right corner to refresh this page, then check it again;

We suggest that you double verify the WiFi password on the page below. If the password is incorrect, the device will fail to connect to Imou Cloud.
If the camera fails to connect with Imou Cloud, we have to check the LED light status on the device -
Green LED light fl ashes slowly: WiFi password incorrect, WiFi compatibility reason, try factory reset

Green LED light stays solid; device already connects to router, scans the device QR code again to add the device to Imou Cloud

Red LED light fl ashes slowly: do factory reset, then try again

Red LED stays solid: do factory reset, then try again. If the solid red LED light remains, it will be device malfuncti on, contact manufacturer for further help.
Add successfully.
Other connection methods
LAN cable connection, only for device with RJ45 port.
- Reset the device and make sure the LED light flashes in green slowly;
- Connect the camera to WiFi router by LAN cable, the device led light will stay at steady green;
- You could launch the imou life app and scan the QR code sticker on the bottom of the device, the camera will be connected automatically;
- If the camera has worked via ethernet cable connection, please access device detail find the “WLAN” menu, please see attached picture. You can enter this menu and search the wifi signals around this camera, choose your home wifi and enter the wifi password correctly, then this camera will connect to this wifi automatically. This process will take about 2 minutes. After that, you can remove the ethernet cable from this camera.
Mobile phone WiFi access point connection
- find a second mobile phone, and enable the personal WiFi access point, then this mobile phone can work as a portable WiFi router. (make sure that the hotspot is set to 2.4GHz only, and WPA&WPA2 encryption)
- Use your first mobile phone to install the Imou life App, then perform the above WiFi configuration process.
Connection failed. How to restore the device to factory settings?
After the device’s calibrati on, you need to hold the reset butt on for 10
seconds.
For cameras with Speaker, you will hear the short beep like in the video
below. For cameras without Speaker, you will see the LED light on the camera
turns solid red aft er you hold the reset butt on for 10s.
