WOLFBOX G840S Mirror Dash Backup Camera

When you encounter difficulties, please read this manual for a quick solution, if you still cannot solve it, please feel free to CONTACT us.

Common Questions

1. Q1: The mirror dash cam only record front camera image/Can’t find the rear camera video.
   A1: PIs click the button at the bottom left of the picture to view the front camera and rear camera video files. “CH1” in the file name stands for front camera and “CH2” stands for rear camera.

2. Why my rear camera can’t be detected?

   • Pls unplug the power cord and restart the machine with the rear camera plugged in.
   • Pls check the AV connector and 4 pin connector first, the AV&4 pin connector may loose, you can tight it and re-connect. After that, pls check whether the problem still exist, if yes, it may caused by the rear view camera cable or the rear view camera. Largely, it can be solved by a new rear view camera cable.
   • If you have an extra extension rear view camera cable, pls connect the un-used rear view camera cable and check whether the problem still exist, if yes, it might caused by the rear view camera.After confirmed the problem, we’ll send related accessory to you.

3. Q3: Why the rear camera didn’t work?
   A3: This problem might caused by the rear view camera cable or the rear view camera. Largely, it can be solved by a new rear view camera cable. Or if you have an extra extension rear view camera cable, pls check as A2 step 2. We’ll send related accessory for you after confirmation.

4. Why the rear camera glares at night/ why the license plate cannot be seen clearly?
   A4: The fixed focal length of the rear camera is 2.5 meters, and the rear camera works best at this distance. The glare can be caused when a car has its high beams on or is far away. When the distance behind the car is close and the high beam of the car behind is turned off, there will be a better light- receiving effect, and the picture will be clearer. Our current WDR camera does a better job at addressing the glare problem. If you provide us with your address, we can send you one.

5. 5: Why my mirror dash cam turn off repeatedly/The mirror dash cam can’t stay turn on.
   A5: Pls check whether have you set the “Screen saver” in the setting, if yes, pls set it to “Off”, the screen will stay on.

Mirror Dash Cam Questions

1. Q1: Why my screen freezes?
   A1: It might caused by the screen failure or a short circuit, could you pls kindly help us do below check what the problem is:

   • PIs confirm whether you’re using the original accessories first. If not, pls use the original accessory and check the problem. Pull out GPS&SD Card&Rear Camera then long press the reset button on the back of the dashcam then connect the car charger to check whether it can work as normal. If yes, it may be the problem with a certain accessory. If not, it might caused by the dashcam or car charger.

   • 2-1 a certain accessory problem
     Connect the other accessories one by one and check as former. If there is a problem after connected to a certain accessory, pls tell us, that might be the problem.

   • 2-2 dashcam or car charger problem
     PIs use a type-c cable (if you have) to connect the dashcam and check whether the dashcam can work well. If normal, it may coused by the broken car charger cable. If still don’t work, pls tell us for further help.

2. O2: The mirror didn’t work/It turn on repeatedly.
   A2: It might caused by the car charger, you can check as below:

   • Pls confirm whether you’re using the original accessories first. If not, pls use the original accessories and check the problem.

   • 2 Pull out the GPS&SD Card & Rear Camera and then connect the car charger to check whether the mirror dash cam can work well.
     If normal, then
     connect the other accessories one by one and check as former. If there is a problem after connected to a certain accessory, pls tell us, that might be the problem.

   • If not, it may be the problem of car charger. pls use a type-c cable (if you have) to connect the dashcam and check whether the dashcam can work well.

Install Questions

1. Q1: The rear view cable isn’t long enough for my car.
   A1: The original rear view cable is 20 ft, if not long enough, we have 50 ft rear view cable (ASIN:B0814ZHHST) sold separately or you can tell us your address to get one.

2. Q2: The mirror dash cam is too big/small for the original rear view mirror.
   A2: If the mirror dash cam is too big, you can use the middle of the strap to fix it. If the mirror dash cam is too small for your original mirror dash cam, there are two longer straps in the box to help you fix it. If you lose it, we also have sale (ASIN: B09NBCQQGC).

3. Q3: I want to center the mirror dash cam/I want a mirror dash cam with three cameras/Can I have a in-car camera?
   A3: If you want center the mirror dash cam/with three cameras/ or want an in- car camera, you can check (ASIN:B09GTW3SHX). Our new model can do it all.

Hardwire Kit Questions

1. Q1: How to connect the hardwire kit.
   A1: Pls connect the yellow cable to BATT/B+, red cable to ACC, black cable to GND.

2. Q2: How to find the BATT, ACC correctly/Why the battery still drain out after connected to the hardwire kit.
   A2: BATT with electric all the time no matter the car is on or off, ACC only have electric when the car is on, you can use an voltage tester pen to check it accordingly. If you’re still not sure about it, please provide your fuse box drawings to us, we will let our technical department to help you find it. If you connect both the yellow and red cable to the BATT, it will cause the battery drain out.

GPS Questions

1. Q1: GPS don’t work/No GPS information display on the mirror dash cam?
   A1: Pls check whether you have turn on the “GPS Disp” in the setting first. If yes, you can check as blow:

   • The vehicle must be within a large area without signal disturb.
   • Insert the GPS plug again.
   • Place the GPS plug upward.
   • Restart.
   • It will be recognized after about 40 seconds.
   • If still don’t work, pls tell us your address to get one new GPS.

2. My date and time is constantly changing/I have to reset the date &time again and again.
   A2: You can connect the GPS and then set the “Time Zone” in the setting to fix this problem. If you reset to factory settings, you need to set the time zone again so that the time can be displayed correctly.

3. Where could I get WOLFBOX PLAYER?
   A3: Pls download from: https://wolfbox.com/gps-player/. If your video still don’t have GPS info, pls zip the video in SD card and send to us for help.

Other Questions

1. Q1: Why the videos often locked?
   A1: Due to a bug in this firmware, the G-sensor sensitivity is reversed. The sensitivity of Low is defined as High. Firmware link: https://bit.ly/3G5tIPQ If you can’t get it through link, pls contact us for firmware upgrade. If it is still locked frequently after updating the firmware, we suggest to set it at “Middle/Low” to reduce locking. G-Sensor is a function that can lock the video when there is a collision, which can help you save necessary video and avoid being covered.
   

2. Why the mirror dash cam drain out my battery?
   A2: It depends on 2 situations.

   • If you have connected the WOLFBOX Direct hardwire kit (ASIN: B09X1L1GMX, B09X9F8GMT ), then it might caused by the yellow and red cable both connected to BATT. You can try to reconnect the red cable to the ACC. You can check detailed connect method under “D: Hardwire Kit Questions”
   • If you’re using car charger, pls check whether your cigar port is BATT or not. (If it is BATT, the car charger will still light after you car is off, you can check accordingly). If you find your cigar port is BATT and the car charger didn’t pull out after your car was off, then car battery will drain out. You can avoid this situation by pulling the car charger out after driving or using our hardwire kit.

3. Q3: The reversing line didn’t appear when I’m reversing.
   A3: Pls check whether the red wire is right connected to the positive pole of the reversing light. The checking method as below: Step on the brakes, put the R gear, there is voltage. Hang the D gear, there is no voltage, then that’s the positive of the reversing light. If still don’t work, pls CONTACT us for further help

4. 04: The reversing assist line was always on the screen, even though I was out of reversing mode.
   A4: You can pull out the rear view camera cable to see if it can work normally. If the reversing line disappeared, the problem may be with the rear view camera cable. If still exist, the problem might be with the mirror dash cam. Pls tell us for further help.
