BATTERY INSTALLATION

Important Safeguards

• Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
• When using electrical products, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:
• This product is not a toy. Keep away from children.
• Do not pull the product and ensure it lies flat so that no one walks or trips over it.
• Do not install using sharp fasteners or nails.
• This product contains no user-serviceable parts.
• Do not attempt to repair the product yourself.
• Do not open the product housing.
• Do not use the product while in its packaging.
• The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable; when the light source reaches its end of life the whole luminaire shall be replaced.

Battery Warnings

• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
• Always insert batteries correctly with regards to polarity (+ and -) marked on the battery and the product.
• Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed from the product and properly disposed of.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
• If the product will be stored or unused for a long period, the batteries should be removed.

Before First Use

DANGER Risk of suffocation!

• Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.
• Remove all the packing materials.
• Remove and review all components before installation.
• Check the product for transport damages.

Inserting batteries

NOTICE

• Always insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -) marked on the battery and the product.
• Recommended to use AA (alkaline) batteries.
• Remove the battery compartment lid. Insert 3 x 1.5 V AA batteries (not included).
• Refit the battery compartment lid (Fig. 1).

Switching on/off

• To switch the product on or off, slide the switch to the ON or OFF position on the battery compartment (Fig. 2).

Cleaning and Maintenance

NOTICE

• Switch the product off before cleaning.
• During cleaning, do not immerse the electrical parts of the product in water or other liquids.
• Never hold the product under running water.

Cleaning

• To clean the product, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
• Wipe the product dry after cleaning.
• Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, or metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.

Storage

Store the product in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
