HC 80 2200 Watts Hair Dryer
Read these instructions for use carefully and keep them for
later use, be sure to make them accessible to other users and observe the
information they contain.
WARNING
- The device is intended only for domestic/private use, not for commercial use.
- This device may be used by children over the age of eight and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental skills or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the device safely and are fully aware of the consequent risks of use.
- Children must not play with the device.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless supervised.
- If the mains connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be disposed of.
- When using the device in the bathroom, unplug the mains plug after use as water in the vicinity constitutes a danger, even when the device is switched off.
- As an additional safety measure, we recommend the installation of a residual-current-operated protective device (RCD=Residual-Current Circuit Device) with a rated operational current not exceeding 30 mA in the bathroom circuit. Your local electrical specialist can provide you with the relevant information.
- Never use the device near baths, wash basins, showers or other objects containing water or other liquids risk of electric shock.
- Under no circumstances should you open or repair the device yourself, as faultless functionality can no longer be guaranteed thereafter. Failure to comply will invalidate the warranty.

Getting to know your device
The hair dryer is suitable for drying and professional styling of your hair.
The hair dryer can be tailored to your individual needs using the two air
blower settings and the three heat settings.
The additional lockable cold air setting adds improved hold to your style.
You can use the narrow professional nozzle to style your hair just the way you
want it, and the diffuser attachment lends your hair additional volume.
The built-in ion technology uses negatively charged ions to neutralise hair.
Static charge in the hair is prevented.
The automatic switch-off protects the device against overheating.
The removable filter makes it easier to remove fluff, dust and hair that has
been sucked in.
The device has a contact sensor. This means that the device only turns on when
you place your hand around the contact sensor on the handle.
The device is only intended for the purpose described in these instructions
for use.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper or careless
use.
Included in delivery
Check that the exterior of the cardboard delivery packaging is intact and make
sure that all contents are present. Before use, ensure that there is no
visible damage to the device or accessories and that all packaging material
has been removed. If you have any doubts, do not use the device and contact
your retailer or the specified Customer Service address.

Warnings and safety notes
Danger
To avoid damage to health, we strongly advise against using the device in the
following situations:

Never submerge the device in water or other liquids! Risk of electric shock!

If the device should fall into water despite following all safety precautions, immediately pull the mains plug from the socket. Do not reach into the water! Risk of electric shock!

Have the device checked by an authorised specialist workshop before using it again. Danger to life due to electric shock!

Keep metal objects (such as jewellery) away from the air intake to prevent them from being sucked in risk of electric shock!

Do not cover the hair dryer, air blower or air inlet risk of fire!

The removable filter [3], the air intake and the air outlet [2] of the hair dryer must be free of fluff, dust and hair that has been sucked in risk of fire!

After use, place the device on a heat-resistant surface.
Notes
- Only pull the cable from the socket by the mains plug
- Remove all packaging material before using the device.
- Only connect the device to a socket that has the voltage shown on the type plate.
- Do not use any additional parts that are not recommended by the manufacturer or offered as equipment.
- Under no circumstances should you open or repair the device yourself, as faultless functionality can no longer be guaranteed thereafter. Failure to comply will result in voiding of the warranty.
- In the event of a fault or damage, have the device repaired by a certified specialist workshop.
- Never leave the device unattended during use.

Initial use
Warning
- Position yourself on a dry, non-conductive surface. Risk of electric shock!
- Make sure that your hands are dry! There is a risk of electric shock!
- The volume diffuser [1], the professional nozzle [11] and the hair dryer may become very hot depending on the switch setting and period of use risk of burns and fire!
- Do not touch the volume diffuser [1] and the professional nozzle [11] during use, as they will become hot. Risk of fire and burns!
- Place the hair dryer on non-flammable surfaces only. Risk of fire!
- Do not place the device on or near wet towels after use. Risk of electric shock!
- Ensure that no hair can be directly sucked into the device. Risk of fire!
Important
- Do not jam the mains cable [10] in drawers or doors, for example.
- Untangle the mains cable [10] if it is twisted.
- Do not pull, twist or bend the mains cable [10] and do not pull or route it over/on sharp, pointed objects or hot surfaces. Damaged or tangled mains cables increase the risk of electric shock!
Note
The device has a contact sensor [7]. This means that the device only turns on
when you place your hand around the contact sensor [7] on the handle and have
already switched on the blower switch [6].
Note
A slight odour initially develops after switching on the device for the first
time. This is normal and not harmful to your health. Allow the device to run
for three to five minutes. After that you can use the device as normal.
Usage
Drying the hair
Switch on the hair dryer using the blower switch [6]. The operating light [8] starts to light up red and the device starts as soon as you touch the contact sensor [7]:
- Gentle air flow 2 Strong air flow
> Select the heat setting using the heat setting switch [5]:
- Low temperature
- Medium temperature
- High temperature
Dry and/or style your hair as desired.
After each use/at each break, always switch off the hair dryer at the blower switch [6] (setting 0)
For your safety, the device switches off automatically if it overheats.
Pull the mains plug out of the socket and allow the device to cool down.
Before switching on again, check the air outlet [2] and the filter [3] for blockage (e.g. fluff, dust and hair that has been sucked in).
Do not place the device on or near wet towels after use.
Note
For best results with the ion technology, use the hair dryer without an
attachment.
Selecting the function
The hair dryer has a cool setting that can be selected using the cold air
button [4]:
Function | Description |
---|---|
The cold setting provides the perfect finish for styling. It cools your |
hair down and adds hold for an improved result. The cold setting can be activated at any time by pressing the button [4]. Once you press the button again, the device returns to the previously selected heat setting.
Accessories
The following attachments are supplied:
- Volume diffuser [1]: gives the style volume and tone.
- Professional nozzle [11]: allows you to style and shape your hair exactly how you want it.
After use
- After each use, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
- Allow the device to cool down.
- Do not wind the mains cable around the device!
- Store the device in a dry place out of the reach of children.
- The device can be hung on a hook using the hanging eyelet [9].
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning
Important
- Always pull the mains plug out of the socket before cleaning the device. Risk of electric shock!
- Ensure that no water gets inside the device! Risk of electric shock!
- Do not clean the device with highly flammable liquids! Risk of fire!
Note
- Your device is maintenance-free.
- Protect the device from dust, dirt and humidity.
- Do not clean the device in a dishwasher.
- Do not use any aggressive, caustic, abrasive or corrosive cleaning products or hard brushes.
- The casing of the hair dryer and the accessories may be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.
- Before each use, remove any fluff, dust and hair from the air outlet [2] and the filter [3] using an appropriately sized brush.
What if there are problems?

(the LED should light up red). Now grip the handle, and keep your hand closed
around it. The device should now switch on.
Disposal
For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste
at the end of its useful life.
Dispose of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling point.
Observe the local regulations for material disposal.
Please dispose of the device in accordance with EC Directive WEEE (Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
If you have any questions, please contact the local authorities responsible
for waste disposal.
You can obtain the location of collection points for old devices from the
local or municipal authorities, local waste disposal company or your dealer,
for example.

Warranty / Service
Beurer GmbH, Söflinger Straße 218, 89077 Ulm, Germany (hereinafter referred to
as “Beurer”) provides a warranty for this product, subject to the requirements
below and to the extent described as follows.
The warranty conditions below shall not affect the seller’s statutory warranty
obligations which ensue from the sales agreement with the buyer. The warranty
shall apply without prejudice to any mandatory statutory provisions on
liability.
Beurer guarantees the perfect functionality and completeness of this product.
The worldwide warranty period is 3 years, commencing from the purchase of the
new, unused product from the seller.
The warranty only applies to products purchased by the buyer as a consumer and
used exclusively for personal purposes in the context of domestic use. German
law shall apply.
During the warranty period, should this product prove to be incomplete or
defective in functionality in accordance with the following provisions, Beurer
shall carry out a repair or a replacement delivery free of charge, in
accordance with these warranty conditions.
If the buyer wishes to make a warranty claim, they should approach their local
retailer in the first instance: see the attached “International Service” list
of service addresses.
The buyer will then receive further information about the processing of the
warranty claim, e.g. where they can send the product and what documentation is
required.
A warranty claim shall only be considered if the buyer can provide Beurer, or
an authorised Beurer partner, with – a copy of the invoice/purchase receipt,
and – the original product.
The following are explicitly excluded from this warranty:
– deterioration due to normal use or consumption of the product;
– accessories supplied with this product which are worn out or used up through
proper use (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, cuffs, seals, electrodes,
light sources, attachments and nebuliser accessories);
– products that are used, cleaned, stored or maintained improperly and/or
contrary to the provisions of the instructions for use, as well as products
that have been opened, repaired or modified by the buyer or by a service
centre not authorised by Beurer;
– damage that arises during transport between manufacturer and customer, or
between service centre and customer;
– products purchased as seconds or as used goods;
– consequential damage arising from a fault in this product (however, in this
case, claims may exist arising from product liability or other compulsory
statutory liability provisions).
Repairs or an exchange in full do not extend the warranty period under any
circumstances.
