cool down. The bit may be (A) is designed only for SDS-plus drill bits. When using non-SDS drill bits, an adapter (not included) must be used (see chapter Drilling with non-SDS drill  bits). Do not use incompatible bits or bits with damaged shanks.

NOTICE Always inspect drill bits for excessive wear. Use only bits that are sharp, in good condition, and intended for a given job. Refer to a below quick drill bit guide.

Twist bit (metal bit): Available with straight and reduced shanks for wood and light duty metal drilling. High speed bits cut faster and last longer on hard materials.

Carbide tipped bit (masonry bit): Used for drilling bricks, concrete, masonry, tiles, and other hard non- metal materials. Use continuous, heavy feed pressure when using this type of bit.
Brad point bit: Used for wood, plywood, and some plastics. They are specially designed to drill and bore clean holes in hard and soft woods without “wandering”.ත
Spade bit : Used for wood, plywood, and some plastics, and cut quickly with great precision. Use them only at high speeds to prevent the bit from catching in the workpiece

NOTICE Clean and lightly lubricated the bit to be inserted into the SDS- plus chuck (A).

  1. Lock the variable speed trigger switch (E) by setting the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D) in the center position.
  2.  Remove the battery pack from the tool.
  3. Insert a bit into the SDS-plus chuck (A) while slightly turning and pushing it until it engages with a click sound (Fig. 3).
    Installation

NOTICE
The SDS-plus drill bit requires freedom of movement, which causes eccentricity in the revolutions when the tool is off-load. The bit automatically centers itself during operation without affecting drilling precision

  1. Pull the bit away from the tool to verify it is installed securely. If the bit comes out, repeat the steps above to install the bit properly
  2. Lock the variable speed trigger switch (E) by setting the forward/trigger off/reverse switch ( 2. Remove D) in the center position. the battery pack from the tool.
  3. Pull the locking sleeve (B) back to open the SDS-plus chuck (A). Remove the bit

Selecting the rotation direction

NOTICE This tool is equipped with a forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D), located above the variable speed trigger switch (E). This switch is designed for changing the rotation direction of the bit and for locking the variable speed trigger switch position preventing accidental startup.
NOTICE To prevent the gear damage, do not change the rotation direction while the tool is operating. Let the tool come to a complete stop first. lies.
NOTICE This tool does not operate unless the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D ) is engaged fully to the left or right.
A: For forward/tighten direction: Set the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D) through to the left stop (Fig. 5).
B: To lock the variable speed trigger switch
E : Set the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D) in the center position (Fig. 5).
C: For reverse/loosen direction: Set the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D) through to the right stop (Fig. 5).
Installation

NOTICE Do not switch the operating mode when the tool is running. Let the tool
come to a complete stop first. Turn the mode selection switch (C) to select normal drilling/screw-driving mode or rotary hammer mode.
4.6.1 Normal drilling/screw-driving mode
For normal drilling/screw-driving, set the mode selection switch (C) to position (Fig. 6).
Installation
NOTICE Do not use the IT hammer mode for drilling in wood, metal, tiles, and plastic to prevent damage to the workpiece surface. For rotary hammer mode, set the mode selection switch (C) to position IT (Fig. 7).
Installation
NOTICE This tool is equipped with an LED worklight (H) that illuminates when the variable speed trigger switch (E) is pressed. This provides additional light on the surface of the workpiece for operation in lowlight areas (Fig. 8).
Installation

  • To switch on the LED worklight (H), slightly press on the variable speed trigger switch (E) before the tool starts running. The LED worklight (H) switches off automatically 8 12 seconds after the variable speed trigger switch (E) is released.

  • When the tool and/or battery pack becomes overloaded or too hot, the internal sensors will switch the tool off. If the tool and/or battery pack are overloaded, the LED worklight (H) flashes rapidly. Rest the tool for a while and let it cool down.

  • The LED worklight (H) flashes slowly to indicate that the battery is at low capacity. Recharge the battery pack.

  • Before each use
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE). Depending on the application, use face shield, safety goggles or safety glasses. As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing protectors and gloves (Fig. 9).

  • Check the tool and its accessories for damage. Do not use the tool if it is damaged or worn out.

  • Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, or any other condition that may affect the operation. If abnormal vibration or noise occurs, switch the tool off immediately and have the problem corrected before further use.

  • Check the condition of the battery pack. Charge the battery pack if needed. Do not use the battery pack if it is bulging or hot.

  • Always firmly hold the tool by its control handle (F) and secondary handle (1). Keep the tool clean and wear clean gloves to maintain a firm grip while in use.

  • Check that the ventilation openings are not obstructed. Obstructed ventilation openings can cause overheating. Clean the tool with compressed dry air if needed.

  • Switch the tool off immediately if bystanders are interrupting the work. Never lay the tool down until the bit has come to a complete stop. The spinning bit may grab the surface and pull the tool out of your control.

  • Do not work continuously for extensive amounts of time with the tool. Take breaks in between work to ensure full concentration while using the tool.

  • To switch the tool on: Set the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D ) through to the left or right stop, and then gently press the variable speed trigger switch ( E ) (Fig. 10).

  • To switch the tool off: Release the variable speed trigger switch (E).

NOTICE The speed of the tool can be adjusted by pressing the variable speed trigger switch (E) to varying extents. A light pressure on the trigger results in a low rotational speed. Increased pressure on the variable speed trigger switch ( E) causes an increase in speed.

CAUTION Risk of injury!
Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during tool operation. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.

  • Check that the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D) is at the correct setting
    (forward or reverse).

  • To prevent cracking of drill holes start to drill with low rotation speed and then increase it.

  • If possible, secure the workpiece to be drilled in a vise or with clamps to keep it from turning as the drill bit rotates.

  • Always hold the tool perpendicularly to the point to be drilled. Holding it at an angle
may cause slipping or jamming of the drill bit.

  • Do not force or apply side pressure to elongate a hole.

  • When drilling hard, smooth surfaces, use a center punch (not included) to mark the desired location of the hole. Alternatively, punch a shallow hole with a minor drill bit
first to prevent the drill bit from slipping.

  • Maintain enough pressure to If the drill bit jams in the workpiece or if the tool stalls, stop the tool immediately. Remove the drill bit from the
keep the drill bit “engaging”. workpiece and determine the reason for jamming.

Drilling with non-SDS drill bits
For drilling with non-SDS drill bits in wood, metal and plastic, use an adapter (not included).

  1. Lock the variable speed trigger switch (E) by setting the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D) in the center position.

  2. Remove the battery pack from the tool.

  3. Clean and lightly lubricate the adapter before inserting it into the SDS-plus chuck (A).

  4.  Insert the adapter into the SDS-plus chuck (A) while slightly turning and pushing it until it engages with a click sound (Fig. 11).
    Installation

  5. Pull the adapter away from the tool to verify it is installed securely. If the adapte comes out, repeat the steps above to install the adapter properly.

  6. Insert a non-SDS drill bit properly into the adapter.

  7. Set the mode selection switch (C) to position when using the tool with the adapter

NOTICE For maximum performance, use high-speed twist bit or brad point bit, the mode selection switch (C) to position for wood drilling. Note that drill overheat unless pulled out frequently to clear chips from the flutes.

  • Use a slow starting speed and increase the speed as the drill bit “engages” into the workpiece. By using a slow starting speed, you are able to keep the drill bit from
  • “wandering”. drilling through holes, place/clamp a block of wood behind the workpiece to ragged or splintered edges on the back side of the hole (Fig. 12).
  • Installation
  • NOTICE For maximum performance, use high-speed steel bits, and set the mode selection switch (C) to position for metal or steel drilling.
  • The harder the material, the greater the pressure that must be applied on the tool.
  • For harder materials, use slower speeds.
  • Lubricate the tip of the drill bit occasionally with cutting oil (not included) to keep it from overheating. The added oil prolongs the life of the drill bit and increases the drilling performance.
  • If the hole to be drilled is fairly large, drill a smaller hole first, then enlarge to the required size. Maintain enough pressure to ensure that the drill bit does not spin in the hole.
  • Maintain speed and pressure that allows drilling without overheating of the drill bit. Applying too much pressure will:
    •  Overheat the tool
    • Wear the bearings
    • Bend or burn the drill bit
    • Result in off-center or irregularly shaped holes

NOTICE For maximum performance, use carbide tipped masonry bits, and set the mode selection switch (C) to position IT when drilling holes in bricks, concrete, masonry and other hard non-metal materials.

  • When drilling holes in tiles, set the mode selection switch (C) to position. Practice

  • on a scrap piece to determine the best speed and pressure.

  • When drilling holes in bricks, for best results apply light pressure and medium speed.

  • For hard materials, for example concrete, apply additional pressure on the tool.

  • Maintain speed and pressure that allows drilling without overheating of the drill bit.
    Applying too much pressure will:

    • Overheat the tool
    • Wear the bearings
    • Bend or burn the drill bit
  • Result in off-center or irregularly shaped holeTip for different drilling operations (Fig. 13)
    Installation
NOTICE In driving mode, the variable-speed control of the variable speed trigger switch (E) must be used with caution. The correct procedure is to start slowly and increasing speed as the fastener runs down. Set the fastener snugly by slowing the tool to a stop. If this procedure is not followed, the tool will have a tendency to torque or twist in your hands when the fastener seats.

Torque is a turning or force that drives a fastener. The greater the torque the greater the force. Different type of materials require different amount of torque.

  • Only apply the tool to the fastener (screw/bolt or nut) when the tool is switched off. Rotating bits can slip off and damage the thread.
  • During operation begin with a slow rotation speed and increase it in the course of work if needed.
  • The rotation speed can be controlled by pressing the variable speed trigger switch (E) to varying extents.
  • It is recommended to perform the first few turns manually by hand, key, or a screwdriver to ensure the correct driving of a fastener.
  • In case of working with threaded components, do not exert too much pressure on the tool. This can  lead to the damage of the thread.
  • Before driving larger/longer fasteners it is advisable to drill a pilot hole.
  • Always hold the tool perpendicularly to the fastener. Holding it at an angle may cause slipping or jamming of the fastener.

Driving fasteners in/out

  1. 1. Set the mode selection switch (C) to position
  2. 2. Set the correct driving direction using the forward/trigger off/reverse switch (D).
  3. 3. Select and install the suitable SDS-plus drill bit or hex bit
    .
NOTICE When using hex bits, use a magnetic insert bit holder (not included) and install an adaptor (see chapter Drilling with non-SDS drill bits). Use bits with hex shanks that are at least 40 mm long.
To start driving the fastener in/out, gently press the variable speed trigger switch ( E ). Begin with a slow rotation speed and increase it in the course of work if needed. The rotation speed can be controlled by pressing the variable speed trigger switch ( E ) to varying extents.
