Important Safeguards

Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this battery pack is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.

WARNING

Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated {corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

Battery tool use and care

• Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
• Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small  metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns ora fire.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
• Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
• Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 266 °F (130 °C) ‘may cause explosion.
• Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack o tool outside the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

Service

• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
• Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

Additional Safety Warnings

• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the power switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying the tool with your finger on the power switch or energizing the tool that has the power switch on invites accidents.
• Make sure the power switch is off and the battery pack is removed before clearing jammed material, making adjustments, changing accessories, storing or servicing the tool. Unexpected actuation of the tool while clearing jammed material or servicing may result in serious personal injury.
• Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the battery pack is maintained.
• Do not modify or attempt to repair the battery pack except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
• Before using the battery pack, also refer to the user manual and safety instructions of the tool and the battery charger.

Intended Use

• This battery pack is only intended to be used with Denali tools indicated in chapter “Specifications”.
• This battery pack can only be charged with a Denali 20V Charger.
• This battery pack is intended for household use only.
• This battery pack is intended to be used in dry locations only. Do not expose to rain, water and excessive humidity.

Before First Use

DANGER

Risk of suffocation!

Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

• Remove all the packing materials.
• Remove and review all components before use.
• Check the battery pack for transport damages.

Charging the battery pack

CAUTION

Risk of injury and fire!

Use this battery pack only with specifically designated chargers. Use of any other chargers may create a risk of injury and fire.

• Do ot leave the battery pack charging for more than 24 hours.
• The battery pack is shipped partially charged. Before using it for the first time, fully charge the battery pack.
• The battery pack is a Lithium-ion battery. It can be charged at any time and will not develop a “memory” when charged after only a partial discharge.
• Refer to the provided charger user manual for detailed instructions.

Press the battery status button (D). The battery status indicators (C) light up accordingly to show the current battery capacity:

Cleaning and Maintenance

NOTICE   Detach the battery pack from the tool or the charger before cleaning. During cleaning do not immerse the battery pack in water or other liquids. Never hold the battery pack under running water.

Cleaning

• To clean the battery pack, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. )
• Wipethe battery pack dry after cleaning.
• Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the battery pack.

NOTICE

Certain cleaning agents and solvents damage plastic  these are: gasoline, carbon tetrachloride, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents that contain ammonia. Do not use cleaning agents and solvents containing these, as they can damage the battery pack.

Storage

• Detach the battery pack from the tool or the charger before storage. )
• Store the battery pack n its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.

Battery Pack Disposal

For EU/UK:

Do not dispose of used batteries with your household E\/ waste. Take them to an appropriate disposal/collection site.

For US/Can:

To preserve natural resources, recycle or dispose of batteries properly. This product contains lithium-ion batteries. Local, state, or federal laws may prohibit disposal of lithium-ion batteries in ordinary trash. Consult your local waste authority or visit: call2recycle. org/what-can-i-recycle for information regarding available recycling and/ or disposal options.
