How to Use

Before first use: Wipe the bottom and top cooking surfaces with a damp, soapy cloth. Rinse cloth; then wipe surfaces again.

WARNING Burn Hazard. Escaping steam can burn. Always use an oven mitt to protect your hand when opening the lid on the quesadilla maker.

NOTE: Processed cheeses and cheese spreads tend to melt very quickly and can cause overflow from the tortilla. When using these types of cheeses, use a lesser amount and try to keep them in the center of the tortilla.

  1. Plug into an outlet. Turn the unit on.

  2. Allow to heat until the Green Preheat Light comes on—approximately 2–3 minutes. The unit is now ready for use.

  3. Raise cover. Center a 7- to 8-inch tortilla in the Quesadilla Maker.
WARNING Burn Hazard. Do not touch cooking surfaces.

  4. Place desired filling(s) onto tortilla (approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup), keeping about 1/2 to 1 inch to the edge clear for filling(s). Do not overfill.

  5. Place a second tortilla over the fillings and the bottom tortilla, centering it over Cooking Surface.

  6. Close and lock Lid. Bake for approximately 2–3 minutes or until the quesadilla begins to brown. Green Preheat Light turns on and off during cooking. This does not indicate cooking is complete.

  7. Open the Lid carefully. Remove the quesadilla using heat-resistant plastic tongs or spatula.

  8. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Once completely cool, wipe clean with a damp, soapy cloth.

Tips for Best Results

  • Always preheat the Quesadilla Maker.
  • Spray Cooking Surfaces with nonstick spray before heating, if desired.
  • Try different types of fillings in your quesadillas—cheeses, meats, chopped onions, mushrooms, salsa—even peanut butter and jelly!
  • Always use pre-cooked meat. Raw meat will not cook thoroughly and could be unsafe to eat. Visit foodsafety.gov for additional information on safe cooking temperatures.
  • The Lid Latch will not lock if the tortilla is overfilled. Ensure the Lid will latch closed for best results.
  • Remove the quesadilla with heat-resistant plastic tongs or spatula. Do not use metal knives or forks since they will scratch the Nonstick CookingSurfaces.
  • This unit can be used to make egg omelets. Use approximately 2 eggs and about 1/4 cup (60 ml) of any filling you would like. Cook eggs completely and enjoy!
