Product Usage Instructions

Print Driver Settings from a Mac

To print using the Wide Format Print Driver from a Mac computer, follow these steps:

  1. Open the file you want to print.
  2. Go to the “File” menu and select “Print”.
  3. From the list of available printers, choose the Canon imagePROGRAF printer.
  4. Adjust the Paper Size setting to match the size of your document.
  5. If you want the settings to apply to all printers, leave the option as it is. However, if you only want these settings to be specific to the Canon imagePROGRAF printer, select that option.
  6. For wide-format printing, it is usually recommended to choose the Canon imagePROGRAF printer only.
  7. If you want your prints to be centred on the paper (instead of right justified), ensure that the option is selected.
  8. Once you have made all the desired selections, click on “OK” to confirm the settings.
  9. Finally, click on the “Print” button to start the printing process.

Canon imagePROGRAF: Print Driver Settings from a Mac
Using the Wide Format Print Driver to print from a MacOS 13 and up.

  1. File → Print
  2. Select desired printer.
  3. Change the Paper Size to the size of the document.
  4. Several options will be listed for Paper Size.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the list to create a custom size by selecting Manage Custom Size
  5. Presets can be created for quick settings selection:
    • Saved presets will be listed under Presets.
    • To save a preset, set the print settings up and click Save Current Settings as Preset…
    • Name the preset.
    • Available For: Choose if the preset is to be shared with ALL printers, or just this one. Since this is a wide format, usually just for this one.

Colour Options

  • Colour can be strengthened and brightness and Contrast can be adjusted from -5- to 50 here

Advanced Paper Settings

  • Dry Time (Between Pages)

    • The time interval between print and cut/exit
  • Dry Time (Between Scans)

    • The time interval between printing each scan (prevents ink bleeding on a page or uneven coloring during borderless printing)
  • Roll Paper Safety Margin

    • Specify the length of margins on the edges of the paper to make curled paper absorb the platen (extremely curled paper will need
  • the 20mm – uncurled paper will need printer default or 3mm)

  • Cut Speed:

    • Printer Default
    • Fast: if clean-cut surfaces are not possible with the standard setting
    • Standard: no problems with automatic cutting
    • Slow: use for adhesive paper; prevents glue from sticking to the cutter
  • Automatic Cutting:

  • Unidirectional Printing:

    • Suppresses uneven colouring and line shifts during printing

Page Processing

  • Roll Paper Width

    • Width: specify when the custom size
      is chosen • 3-sided Borderless:

    • If checked and the width or length of the output paper size is smaller than the roll width, a margin will be created on the right of the document, and the remaining three sides (top, bottom, and left) will be borderless

  • Banner Printing:

    • Print documents with multiple pages as one continuous document (the spaces between the pages will be removed)
  • Fit Roll Paper Width:

    • Printer expands/reduces the document to match the roll paper width and prints
  • No Spaces at Top or Bottom:

    • Gets rid of margins between prints
  • Rotate Page 90 degrees:

    • Save paper by rotating the print by 90 degrees (it will not rotate if print doesn’t fit)
  • Borderless Extension:

    • Adjust how much the document extends outside the paper by using the Borderless Extension slider bar
  • Print Centered:

Additional Settings

  • Output Method:
    • Set PIN for Printing: set a pin to release at the printer with it (1-7 digits)
    • Print after reception is complete: printing will start after the print job is received; it prevents a decrease in print quality due to the printing being suspended
  • Save in Job Box:
    • Save the print job at the printer
    • Document Title: this will be the name of the job in the Job Box; it can stay the file name or be named differently
    • Job Box No: select box number to be saved in

  • Name, Location & Model

  • Supply levels will show if 2-way communication is turned on

  • Once all selections have been made, select OK → Print
