Operation and use

  1. Connect the BNC connector of the electrodeto the pH meter and remove the protective cap containing torage solution rom the electrode.
  2. Rinse the elctrode with running water and dry it using cean Kitchen paper.
  3. Press the on/off button to turn on the meter.
  4. Place the electrode n the (soft) substrate make sure the substrate is wellwet/damp, otheruwise the meter will not work properly or liqud o be measured
  5. Wait for the value to stabilse. The measurement is now complete.
  6. Pressthe HOLD button to save the measurement. Do not forget to press the HOLD button again when the meter i used once more.
  7. Rinse the cectrode with Clean water after use, 5o that no residue is et on the lectrode. Replace the electrode i the protective cap containing the storage solution.
  8. Press the on/off button to ur off the meter.

We recommend storing the meter with KC!storage solution in the protective cover

Calibrating the pH meter

  1. Press the On/off button tostart the meter
  2. Gently clean the electrode with ditiled water and dry it off.
  3. Insert the meter n an uprigh position in pH buffer solution pH 7.01 (make sire hi s 25-C)and s genty.
  4. Wait until the value on the display s stable
  5. Press and hold the CAL button for 5 seconds. CAL pH 7.0 willnow appear on the display.Callbration s complete as soon asa tick sigh appears on the screen.
  6. Gently clean the electrode with distiled water and dry t off.
  7. Repeat the process with pH 4.01 buffer solution
  8. Gently clean the meter before storing i Calibration is now complete.

When is calibration required?

  • Ifthe electrode has been replaced.
  • Ifthe meter was last calibrated over a month ago.
  • If the meter is used on a regular basis.
  • IFhigh precision is needed.

Replacing the electrode

  1. Detach the BNC connector of the old pH electrode from the meter.
  2. Connect the BNC connector of the new pH electrode to the meter.
  3. Calibrate the meter as described i this manua,
  4. The meteris now ready for use,

Warning

  • Always make sure that there are no air bubbles present n the solution during calbration. Ths could afect the measurements.

  • Make Sure the calbration solution is 25°C when calibrating the meter.
    Failure to do 5o may affect the result of the cal bration.

  • Neverstore the electrode n dstiled water.

  • DONOT immerse the electrade n ol poteins or suspended solds that leave alayer on the glass bulb.

  • DONOT soak or rinse i RO (Reverse Osmosis), distilled or de-ionised wiater. Pure water alters the chemistry of the reference iquid so that it nolonger works.

  • Avoid placing the meter near balasts or any other electrical appliances.
    Force fields may affect the readings.

  • If during calibration the pH value keeps ising or dropping slowly and does not stabilse, please replace the batteries and calbrate the.

Replacing the batteries

If the battery indicator at the top right ofthe display is activated, or ifthe display dims, piease replace the batteries. To do so, unscrew the top and replace the 3 x 1.5 Volt AG-13 button cll batteries.

Warranty

This meter is warranted from al defects in material and manufacturing for a period of ane year from the date of purchase. The electrode is warranted from all defects in material and manufacturing for a period of six months from the date of purchase. f during ths period any parts need reparation or replacement and the damage s not due to incorrect operation by the user, please send the parts to the dealer or to us and the repair will be free of charge. Please refer to the exclusion warring.
