Product Information

• The DLS Reference RC3C is a midrange component speaker designed to provide an optimal sound experience. DLS, a part of Winn Scandinavia AB, focuses on sound and construction quality to deliver high-performance speakers for vehicles. The RC3C speaker is engineered and sound-tuned in Sweden.
• The speaker is covered by warranty, subject to the conditions in the country of purchase. To avail warranty service, include the original dated receipt with the returned product.
• The speaker is manufactured in compliance with the EU directive EEC 95/54 (72/245/EEC) and marked with the approval number. It also adheres to the WEEE-directive 2012/19/EC and the EU RoHS directive 2015/863/EU.
• The package includes 2pcs Midrange components, 8pcs V-type clips, 8pcs Screws, 2pcs Grills, and 1pcs Manual. DLS recommends using insulation and/or sound deadening material in car doors to reduce noise and prevent rattles. For guidance on door insulation, consult your DLS distributor.

Product Usage Instructions

Pre Installation

1. Before replacing speakers, disconnect and secure the negative terminal of the battery/power source to prevent any risk of damage.
2. Place the disconnected terminal in a secure and isolated location away from any possible connection belonging to the battery/power source system.

Installation

General Installation
Mount the speakers in the A-pillar, dashboard, or high up in the car door. If the factory pre-made mounting holes and OEM placements do not fit, modifications may be required. To improve sound and reinforcement, use a rigid baffle of MDF-board or similar material. Adjust the speaker direction towards the listener for more high-frequency response if needed. The RC3C speaker can be used with or without a cup/chamber (Not included).

NOTE:
Properly fasten the speakers to avoid bad sound or rattling.

Your speakers must be installed correctly in order to work as intended. Make sure you have all necessary tools nearby before starting and that you are completely confident in how to proceed. If you feel the slightest uncertainty; feel free to take the help of an experienced installer or a car audio dealer.

Warranty

This midrange speaker is covered by warranty, depending on the conditions in the country where it is sold. If the speaker is returned for service, please include the original dated receipt with the product.

Some sound systems may vary in size and location of the speaker placements. Make sure that your vehicle has the same size as this speaker, before you start the assembly.

Pre installation

• Before you start the process of replacing speakers, disconnect and secure the negative terminal from your battery/power source. This will prevent the risk of damaging yourself or the products.
• Place the disconnected terminal in a secure and isolated location away from any possible connection belonging to the battery/power source system.

Installation

General installation
Mount the speakers in the A-pillar, dashboard or high up in the car door. They may fit in the factory pre-made mounting holes and OEM placements, if not you might have to modify the fitting. If you want to improve the sound and reinforcement you can use a rigid baffle of MDF-board or similar. You can also direct the speaker more on-axis towards the listener for more high frequency response if needed. The RC3C speaker can be used with and without a cup/chamber (Not included).

Recommended crossover settings:

• HPF 12dB/180Hz – 500Hz
• LPF 12dB/3500Hz – 10000Hz

NOTE! It is important to fasten the speakers properly in order to avoid bad sound or rattling.

Door insulation

• DLS recommends using insulation and/or sound deadening in the car doors. It lowers the noise from the road/tires and prevent rattles and other noises from plastic details in the doors.
• If you need help deciding what type of door insulation you should use, ask your DLS distributor for info and guidance.

Running-in time

• Allow the speakers to play for at least 15-20 hours in order to perform at its possibly best. This run-in can be made with tone sweep or with just music.
• Start at a moderate volume and increase the volume step by step during the running in period. After the 15-20 hour run in session the performance and char- acteristics will be in the correct condition.
