Product Information

  • This product is a Small Diameter Mount designed for attaching an antenna to an approved structural support pipe with a diameter of 48mm to 120mm. It is important to read the manuals fully before unpacking, assembling, and installing the antenna. The installation, maintenance, or removal of the equipment must be carried out by authorized personnel with the appropriate technical training, education, and experience to ensure safety.
  • It is crucial to follow all safety regulations, both local and provided in the manual. In case of any conflict between the safety instructions in the manual and local safety regulations, the local regulations should prevail. The use of components other than those enclosed with the equipment or recommended by CommScope is not recommended.
  • When using this product, it is advised to wear protective gear to avoid skin contact with conductive grease. After use, wash thoroughly with liquid soap and water, as the product contains oil, clay, and zinc dust. Additionally, the product should not be stored near food or food substances.
  • Working at heights may involve risks, such as falling or falling objects. Therefore, caution should be exercised while working in such areas.
  • The product comes with specific hardware and tools. The recommended torque values for different thread sizes and materials are provided in the manual. The appropriate spanner and socket sizes for different fasteners are also mentioned.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Fit the mount and attach it to the pipe:
    • Locate the mount on the boss.
    • Use M10 x 45 screws.
    • If the antenna offset is left, ensure nuts locate correctly and torque them to 38Nm.
    • If the antenna offset is right, ensure nuts locate correctly and torque them to 38Nm.
  2. Elevation Adjustment:
    • Fit screws and washers.
    • Torque the screws to 38Nm.
    • Adjust elevation by rotating the Elevation adjuster bolt, which is part of the elevation adjustment assembly.
    • After adjusting, torque the screws to 38Nm.
    • Unscrew the screws 1/4 turn to allow further adjustment if needed.
  3. Azimuth Adjustment:
    • Torque all hardware to 10Nm.
    • Loosen one nut by 1/4 turn to release clamping.
    • Adjust azimuth by rotating both nuts evenly in the same direction.
    • Ensure screws are torqued to 38Nm, then unscrew 1/4 turn to allow adjustment.
    • After adjustment, torque the nuts to 10Nm.
    • On completion, torque the screws to 38Nm, tightening screw A first and then screw B.

SERVICE PERSONNEL

Installation, maintenance or removal of equipment must be carried out by authorized personnel having the appropriate technical training, education and experience necessary to be cognizant of hazards during installation and service, and of measures to minimize any danger to themselves or any other person.

Always use mandatory local safety regulations, instructions in this manual shall be used as a supplement to the local regulations.
In case of conflict between the safety instructions in this manual and local safety regulations, the local mandatory safety regulations shall prevail. CommScope will not accept responsibility for accidents resulting from non- compliance to regulations

INSTALLATION HARDWARE

Do not use any components (for example screws and nuts) other than those enclosed with the equipment or recommended by CommScope.

  • Use protective wear to avoid skin contact with conductive grease. Keep away from mouth. Wash thoroughly after use with liberal amounts of liquid soap and rinse with water. Do not store open near food or food substances.
  • Contents: Oil, clay & zinc dust.

HOISTING & WORKING AT HEIGHTS

Some working areas involve the risk of accidents caused by falling or by falling objects

  • Use only tested and approved hoisting equipment in accordance with the instructions supplied with the equipment.
  • Appropriately trained personnel must operate the hoisting device.
  • Never walk under hoisted loads.

GENERAL MAINTENENCE

  • The antenna is designed such that minimal maintenance is required. Equipment should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel to verify proper installation, maintenance, and condition of equipment to ensure trouble free operation.

CLEANING OF ANTENNA

  • If subsequent cleaning of the antenna is required use water and mild detergent.
