SET THE RUBBER EYECUP
To obtain the maximum field of view, fold the rubber eyecup up if you do not wear eyeglasses or fold it down if you do wear eyeglasses.

ADJUSTING FOCUS

To obtain a sharp view through your monocular, you need to adjust the focus. Rotate the eyepiece until you have a sharp image. If you wear eyeglasses for nearsightedness, wear them while using your monocular. Otherwise, you may not be able to reach sharp focus at infinity.

CARE AND CLEANING

  • Handle your monocular with care. If you mishandle or drop the monocular, its optics could be knocked out of alignment, requiring service. When you are not using your monocular, store it in the soft case provided.
  • Monoculars do not require routine maintenance, other than ensuring that the lens and eyepiece are clean. A dirty objective lens and/or eyepiece allows less light to pass through to your eye and can cause dim or fuzzy views. Avoid touching the glass surfaces. If fingerprints (which contain mild acid) do get on the glass, remove them as soon as possible to avoid damaging the coatings. We recommend the
  • Celestron Lens Cleaning Kit (# 93576) or a similar high-quality lens cleaning kit for optics or cameras.
  • Never attempt to clean your monocular internally or take it apart! If your monocular needs repairs, contact Celestron or an authorized Celestron distributor in your region.
