SENECA SWPG04M Parallel Guide System
Installation Instructions
This guide will instruct how to install the Seneca Woodworking Parallel Guide System and how to properly adjust the Incra T-Track Plus scales so they direct read.
-
Using a 5/32” Allen wrench, install the rail bracket adapters onto the Festool guide rail with the included hardware.
-
Install the Incra T-Track Plus into the rail bracket adapters with the included knob/hardware. Note that the knob can be inserted in either of two holes to allow positioning the T-Track Plus on either side.
-
Slide the rail stops onto the Incra T-Track Plus.
-
To adjust the scales so they direct read to width of cut, cut a piece of scrap board to a known width of 12”. A wider piece of scrap will work too as long as the width is known.
-
Set the Festool guide rail on the piece of scrap so that it rests on the saw cut line (so it aligns with the kerf.)
-
Move the rail stops so they are flush with the opposite side of the test piece.
-
Slide the scales on the Incra T-Track Plus so they align with the rail stops so that the dimension of the cut stock reads accurate. (eg, 12” for a 12” scrap piece)
-
Alternatively, if you don’t require the scales to direct read, you can use a tape measure to position the rail stops relative to the saw cut line.
Narrow stock adapters:
The tail brackets are used to position stock greater than 10” wide.
Narrow stock adapters are used to cut stock with a width 10” or less.
The Narrow stock adapters are installed on the underside of the Incra T-Track
Plus using the included hardware. First, Attach the T-Shaped “slider mount”
part with three holes, to the short stock adapters using two flat head screws.
Then screw the nylon set screw into the middle hole using a 1/8” Allen wrench.
The narrow stock adapters are designed to interlock with the tail brackets:
Interlock these two parts and slide them both on to the Incra T-Track. Once
assembled, this allows accurate positioning of the short stock adapters using
the Incra T-Track scales
The short stock adapters have two interlock positions. One creates a 10” offset, the other is a 200mm offset. These offsets can be used to simplify the math required when ripping narrow stock using the calibrated scales on the Incra rail.
The nylon set screw allows positioning of the narrow stock adapters from the
bottom of the Incra rail for even more precise measurements.
To use this way, simply measure and position the narrow stock guides using a
rule, and use the set screw to hold the narrow stock adapters in place.
