INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Welcome
Thank you for choosing Ebeco and our ground sensor. It is adapted to be used with the thermostat EB-Therm 800. The thermostat settings for this application are included in this manual. If you need the entire manual for the EB-Therm 800, it is available at the document archive on Ebeco’s website.
Included in the package
- Two-part screwable sensor adapter that enables level adjustment to finished ground level, from maximum screwed-in position up to 35 mm.
- Sensor unit Temp & Humidity with 15 m prefabricated connection cable. Extension of cable, see Technical data.
- Mounting pipe dimension 200 x 90 mm, used for asphalt, pouring in concrete etc.
- Sensor dummy (red) which prevents the adapter from being filled with stone, sand or the like during construction.
- Manual
This product is covered by the warranty terms and must be installed and operated according to the manual. This applies to both you who installs and you who handle the product. If you have questions, you are always welcome to contact Ebeco: call +46 31 707 75 50 or send an e-mail to info@ebeco.se.

Installation of Ground sensor
Setting
The location of the ground sensor is important in order to obtain a correct
and efficient control of the Snow melting system, the exact position depends
on the design and location of the facility. Generally, placement is
recommended where there is the greatest risk of water, snow and ice
accumulating. That is, in shadow zones, at the lowest ground level or where
snowdrifts can form. The ground sensor is placed at least 0.5 m within the
heated zone and according to the instructions below. Mounting
-
The sensor adapter is placed on a hardened or firm, draining surface to ensure that the sensor is not pushed down or sinks over time and that water does not remain inside the adapter.
Attachment of the adapter takes place in an applicable manner using the various holes in the bottom. When installing, it is recommended that the sensor adapter is screwed in at the bottom position to minimize the risk of the threads being filled. Maximum
adjustable height is approx. 3.5 cm.
Measure the adapter’s height level to 1–2 cm below the completed ground level, this allows adjustment both up and down afterwards. -
lace a protective pipe in the ground for the connection cable to the attachment in the sensor adapter (ø20 mm).
-
The accompanying mounting tube (dimensions 200 x 90 mm) is threaded over the sensor adapter as protection before paving, pouring in concrete or the like.
Installation in concrete -
When casting in concrete, the underside of the sensor adapter must be sealed with tape or equivalent to prevent concrete from penetrating and filling the adapter and the protective tube. Leave the corrugated cardboard (picture 4) in place to simplify removing the mounting tube after curing.
-
To prevent water from standing inside the adapter, if possible, drill a drainage hole through the bottom of the adapter and the concrete slab.
-
Adjust the screw-on transducer adapter to even level for finished ground surface. The space between the sensor and the coating is filled, if necessary, with cement mortar, cold asphalt, sand or soft joint for outdoor use.
-
The sensor unit with the supplied connection cable is mounted after the ground surface has been completed. About 30 cm of the connection cable is wrapped into the bottom of the adapter.
-
In order to be able to lift out of the sensor unit during level adjustment or inspection, if necessary, there are intended grooves to be able to lift out of the sensor unit from the adapter with the help of two screwdrivers. The function is also useful when adjusting the level.
