Note
Confirm the desired position to install the MX2+ digital electric handpiece and pre-assemble all possible components before beginning installation.

Installation Guide

WARNING
Disconnect power, shut off air and water before performing this procedure.

Step 1: Route tubing.
A) Place handpiece tubing and wiring through bracket hole.

Step 2: Install connector to tubing.
A) Install tubing to connector (three connections).
B) Install extension tubing to other side of connector.
Connectivity

Step 3: Attach extension harness (015-2141-00) to handpiece.
A) Match wire colors and attach them together by inserting the stripped wire ends into the splice connector and crimping it.
B) Tug on wires to make sure connection is tight.

Step 4: Route wiring.
A) Route extension harness, tubing and module harness through harness sleeve to PTC unit.
B) Secure loose wiring with cable ties.

Step 5: Attach harness and mount Bien-Air module.
A) Route grey Bien-Air module wire harness through unit.
B) Make necessary wire connection.
C) Secure white cover at wire connection.
D) Attach Bien-Air module to unit using existing two screws.
Connectivity

Step 6: Install harnesses and wires to PC board, converter and terminal strip.
A) Connect brown and white wires to converter using a small screw driver.
B) Using a small screw driver, install black wires from converter to terminal strip with any existing wires that are already connected.
C) Connect extension harness (orange connector) to PC board as shown.
D) Attach clear 1/8” tubing from handpiece tubing (drive air) to PC board.
E) Attach suppressor core as shown.
F) Connect module harness to PC board as shown.
G) Attach module harness wire labeled 5 v to red wire from PC board and module harness wire labeled GND to black from PC board wire in the third pin location using wire nuts as shown.

Step 7: Secure PC Board.
A) Route wires through PC Board opening.
B) Install cover to secure PC Board.
C) Secure wires with cable ties.
Connectivity

Step 8: Connect tubing to kink valve.
A) Cut end of tubing as shown and connect to kink valve and tee fitting using unit clamps where shown. (Tubing colors refer to where the extension tubing is attached to the handpiece tubing shown in previous steps.)
B) Cut tubing at existing check valve where shown and remove existing tubing and connect new check valve and tubing using unit clamp.

Note
Use care cutting the end of the tubing so that none of the integrated tubes are damaged.
Connectivity

Step 9: Install converter/PC board box.
A) Install hook and loop strips to side of converter and bottom of PC board then to delivery unit housing.
B) Install the PC board box as shown.
Connectivity

Step 10: Complete wire routing.
A) Secure loose wiring in delivery unit housing by looping wires and using cable ties.
B) Install all previously removed cable ties on wire harness/sleeve.
Connectivity

Step 11: Connect power and verify operation.
A) Connect chair to power supply.
B) Reference Bien-Air user guide to verify proper set up.
C) Test handpiece operation.
