Tools for Installation:
- 12mm Socket
- 12mm Wrench
Gas Hood Struts

Starting on the DRIVER SIDE. Locate and remove the bolt with a 12mm socket. Bolt will be re-used in step 2.

Identify Driver Side fender bracket. Ball socket will point towards engine (see image). Install the bolt removed in Step 1.

Tighten the bolt, making sure ball socket is towards the engine.

Place washer on ball socket stud and start threaded plate. Ensure that 2-3 threads are showing on back side.
This will assist in threaded plate retention.
TECH TIP: Hold the THREADED PLATE and turn the ball socket stud in hand to ensure proper rotation BEFORE installing in hood. If turned wrong way, plate will fall into hood. -
Insert threaded plate into hole.

Using a 12mm wrench, tighten ball stud.

Install strut with piston rod pointed down. Install on hood ball socket, then on fender. Repeat steps on passenger side.
