SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: Please read and observe carefully before using the device!

Batteries:

Batteries are parts whose life cycle depends on handling. If no failure is reported within 3 months after receipt of the equipment, the battery will be considered to be functioning properly. Failure to comply with these regulations will lead to the loss of guarantee.

Please note the following:

  • Fully charge the battery every three months.

  • Do not work with the device at less than 20% battery as it may damage the battery. The device will not come under warranty if it is detected that the battery is at 0% charge.

  • The LED indicator on the front of the tablet should blink during charging. If not, it is due to a battery failure.

  • Before working in negative temperatures, make sure the battery is 85% charged or higher.

  • In negative temperatures do not work with the equipment with a load below 60%.

  • The battery charge temperature is 0ºC to 40ºC.

  • The storage temperature of the battery is between 0ºC and 25ºC.
    Charge the battery (or equipment) before storing it.

  • Avoid exposing the device or battery to high temperatures.

  • Do not overcharge the battery. The full charge is indicated when the indicator LED stops flashing.

  • Do not expose the battery to mechanical stress.

  • Do not damage the batteries with sharp or pointed objects.

  • Do not throw batteries into fire – they may explode.

  • Do not throw liquids on the batteries.

  • Avoid short-circuiting the batteries, as it can lead to overheating and ignition of the battery.

  • If liquid comes out of the battery and comes into contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention.

  • Incorrect battery replacement may cause a risk of explosion.

  • Replace the battery only with the same or equivalent recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Batteries should not be disposed of with normal household waste.
    Use the service of specialized stores that perform recycling.

Environment:

Protect the device from temperatures outside the specified range. The device is protected against spray water but must not be submerged in water or be exposed to water jets. Do not expose the unit to strong magnetic fields or strong static electricity. Once water or liquid has entered the unit, turn it off and do not use until it is dried. Have it checked by a qualified specialist.

Safety in operation:

Do not drop the device. Do not bend or twist it. This may result in a breakage of the display glass or of circuit boards and mechanical parts. To avoid hearing damage, listen to music via headphones at a moderate volume and never place the speaker outputs directly in front of your ear. Keep packaging materials and small parts away from children. There is a danger of suffocation. Never open the case of the appliance or the charger (risk of electric shock, short-circuit and fire). Do not put objects through slots or openings on the appliance or charger (risk of electric shock, short circuit, and fire). Do not attempt to open the unit, the unit may be destroyed and you will lose warranty.

Cleaning:

Never clean the surface of the appliance with solvents, detergents or other chemical products. Use a soft, dry cloth instead.

Power supply:

Always use the original charger or one with suitable current and voltage rating to prevent damage to the device. If you use an universal charger, consider the polarity of the charger as well as the current and the voltage rating. Do not unplug the charger from the wall outlet by pulling the cable. Do not use chargers with damaged cables or plugs.

Disposal:

Dispose used electronic equipment at the appropriate collection points. Please note that your device has a battery and therefore it must not be disposed with normal household waste. Please consult your local or municipal authorities for the correct disposal route of your device and battery

REMOVING THE BATTERY

  1. Slide the two latches to unlock the protective battery cover.
  2. Take off the protection cover.
  3. Slide the battery lock latch up
  4. Remove the battery

Warning: Make sure the device is properly shut down before attempting to remove the battery.

INSERTING THE BATTERY

  1. Insert the battery from the contact side.
  2. Slide the battery lock latch down
  3. Put the battery cover back in place.
  4. Slide the two latches to lock the protective battery cover

INSERTING SIM & MICRO-SD CARDS

Warning:

  • Before inserting SIM or SD card the device has to be shut down.
  • To install or to remove the SIM card or SD card, the battery Has to be removed first (page 10).
  • The slot tray only detects one SIM and one Micro SD
  1. Remove the battery (page 10)
  2. Remove the card slot tray.
  3. Put the SIM and Micro SD card according to the slots on the tray.
  4. Insert the tray from the slots.
  5. Install the battery (page 11).

USE OF THE BARCODE READER

Attention:

  • Your device may not have a barcode reader, depending on the configuration acquired.
  • Note that the default configuration of the reader is via USB HID.

Use barcode reader

  1. Make sure there is an application open on the device and that a text field is focused (with the text cursor in the text field).
  2. Point to a barcode with the top of the device.
  3. Press and hold the shutter button (located on the front of the device with the letter “F”).
  4. The data capture LED is lit and a beep sounds by default to indicate that the barcode has been decoded correctly. Focus the capture LED on the barcode until the beep sounds.
  5. Release the trace button. Barcode content data is displayed in the text field.

To configure your BCR with line break, you will need to scan the following codes from first to last in the correct order:

  1. Enter setup

  2. Enable suffix

  3. Set the Suffix on Return

  4. Exit setup
