softbox unless purchased as a kit.
-
Before assembling the FF-OSB60 Octa Softbox, unplug the FF-OF4 and remove all fluorescent lamps.
-
Unfold the softbox and run the power cord of the FF-OF4 through the center of the softbox from the inside out.
Position the retracted FF-OF4 inside the softbox and first move the locking knob and receiver assembly through the elastic ring. Then fit the elastic ring of the softbox around the base of the fixture. Make sure that the flex rod sockets are accessible from the inside of the softbox. -
Insert the plain end of first flex rod in any of the eight flex rod sockets on the fixture head. Adjust the softbox so that the flex rod is aligned with one of the pockets on the outer edge of the softbox. Insert the stud end of the flex rod into the pocket by bending it so that it can be inserted into the pocket.
-
Attach the next rod directly opposite to where the first rod was inserted. Insert the plain end into the flex rod socket first, and then insert the stud (silver) end into the pocket on the softbox.
-
Attach the next two rods at a90° angle from the first two rods that were inserted. Follow the same steps as with the first two flex rods: insert the plain end into the flex rod socket, and firmly bend the flex rod so that it can be inserted into the pocket on the softbox.
-
Attach the remaining rods, always placing one flex rod, and then the next on the opposite side. Once all the flex rods are in place the fabric of the Octa Softbox should be stretched tight and the softbox should keep its shape.
-
Screw in all the fluorescent bulbs. Only touch the base of the bulb; never touch the glass itself.
-
Stretch the diffuser around the opening of the softbox. Press down on the touch fasteners to seal it.
