The standard durability and functionality of the battery are achieved only when fully charging and discharging it 2 or 3 times. This applies also to reusing a battery after a longer storage time of 2 months.

Charging steps:

  1. Plug the AC adaptor cable into the adaptor jack.
  2. Slide the battery pack or radio with a battery pack into the charger.
  3. Plug the AC adaptor into the AC outlet.
  4. Make sure the battery pack contacts are in contact with the charging terminals, the charger LED lights are red and charging begins.
  5. The green LED indicates that the charging is completed. Remove the battery or the radio from the charger.

Note:

  1. The LED light of the charger lights before unplugging the battery pack – this is normal.
  2. If the LED light of the charger is blinking, do not insert the battery. If a red light is blinking during charging, the battery is damaged or the surrounding temperature is too high or low.

INITIALIZATION

Installing/removing the battery pack:
The battery pack is not charged at the factory; charge it before use.

  1. Match the two bulges of the battery pack with the guides on the back of the radio, then press the battery pack and radio firmly together until the release latch on the base of the radio locks.

  1. Do not short the battery terminals or dispose of the battery in fire. Never attempt to remove the casing from the battery pack.
  2. Charging of the battery must happen at the ambient temperature of +5 – +40°C. Charging outside this range may not fully charge the battery and could be a safety hazard. Never charge the battery in freezing temperatures.
  3. Always switch off the device before charging. Using the device while charging will interfere with the normal charging rate.
  4. Do not plug/unplug the AC adaptor and battery during charging, to avoid interrupting the process.
  5. If the battery operating time decreases despite charging correctly, it must be replaced.
  6. Do not recharge the battery if it is already fully charged. Doing so may cause the life of the battery to shorten or the battery may be damaged.
  7. Do not recharge the device if the battery or other parts are wet. Ensure that the device is dry before charging.
