  • If installing the fan over a tub or shower, it must be connected to a GFCI-protected branch circuit and installed on the ceiling.
  • The fan must be properly grounded.

Caution

  • The fan should only be used for general ventilating purposes and should not be used to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.
  • If installing the fan in a wall, ensure it is mounted 8 ft. or more above the floor.
  • Avoid getting drywall spray, construction dust, etc. on the power unit to prevent motor bearing damage and noisy/unbalanced impellers.
  • Refer to the specification label on the product for further information and requirements.

Product Usage Instructions

Cleaning & Maintenance:
To ensure quiet and efficient operation, long life, and an attractive appearance, follow these steps:

  1. Lower or remove the grille and vacuum the interior of the unit using the dusting brush attachment.
  2. The motor is permanently lubricated and does not require oiling.
  3. If the motor bearings are making excessive or unusual noises, replace the blower assembly (including the motor and impeller).

Operation:
Use an on/off switch to operate the fan. For additional accessories and controls, refer to Broan’s catalog to effectively adapt the fan to your specific requirements.

Installation:
When installing the fan, follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid installing the fan above or inside a cooking area.
  • Ensure proper insulation around and over the fan housing.
  • Use a power cable for connection.
  • Keep duct runs short for optimal performance.
  • Do not use the fan in a cooking area.

Important Note:
The ducting from this fan to the outside of the building significantly affects the airflow, noise, and energy use of the fan. To achieve the best performance, use the shortest and straightest duct routing possible. Avoid installing the fan with ducts smaller than recommended. Insulating the ducts can reduce energy loss and inhibit mold growth. If installing the fan with existing ducts, it may not achieve its rated airflow.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  • For quiet and efficient operation, long life, and attractive appearance – lower or remove the grille and vacuum the interior of the unit with the dusting brush attachment.
  • The motor is permanently lubricated and never needs oiling. If the motor bearings are making excessive or unusual noises, replace the blower assembly (including the motor and impeller).

OPERATION

  • Use an on/off switch to operate the fan.
  • Refer to Broan’s catalog for a complete line of accessories/controls to effectively adapt these fans to your requirements.

IMPORTANT
The ducting from this fan to the outside of the building has a strong effect on the airflow, noise, and energy use of the fan. Use the shortest, straightest duct routing possible for best performance, and avoid installing the fan with smaller ducts than recommended. Insulation around the ducts can reduce energy loss and inhibit mold growth. Fans installed with existing ducts may not achieve their rated airflow.
