FloorMuffler Encore Floating Floor

Product Information

This product is a floating floor, designed for easy installation over a structurally sound and level subfloor. It is important to ensure that the subfloor is free of dust, debris, protruding nails, and defects. If installed over concrete, the concrete must be dry with moisture emission rates that meet the floor covering manufacturer’s specifications.

Product Usage Instructions

Step 1

1. Inspect the subfloor to ensure it is structurally sound, level, and clean from dust and debris.
2. If installing over concrete, ensure that the moisture emission rates are within the floor covering manufacturer’s specifications.

Step 2

1. Start the installation in a corner of the room with the tape strip side next to the wall and the overlapping film facing towards the open room.

Step 3

1. Unfold the film and extend it at least 3 inches from the foam.
2. Ensure that only the moisture barrier lip overlaps and not the foam pad.

Step 4

1. Remove the adhesive liner from the foam.
2. Adhere the foam to the film overlap firmly.

Step 5

1. Follow the flooring manufacturer’s instructions to install the flooring.

Installation Instructions

1. Make sure the subfloor is structurally sound, level, and free of dust and debris.

2. Check for protruding nails and/or defects in the subfloor. If installed over concrete, the concrete must be dry with moisture emission rates that do not exceed the floor covering manufacturer’s specifications.

3. Start in a corner with the tape strip side next to the wall and the overlapping film toward the open room.

4. Install floorMuffler® Encore (film side down) parallel to the wall in the opposite direction that you plan to install the flooring planks.

5. When installing the floorMuffler® Encore, leave at least 2” going up the wall.

6. Be sure to unfold the film, extending it 3” from the foam.

7. Roll out the next roll of floorMuffler® Encore in the same manner, making sure that the foam seams are butted together.

8. Be sure to overlap only the moisture barrier lip and not the foam pad.

9. Remove the adhesive liner and adhere the foam to the film overlap.

10. Install the flooring per the manufacturer’s instructions.
