Product Information
The MLA15AZ Air Conditioner is manufactured by HVACmainline.com. It is available in four different models: MLA15AZ24AJ3NA, MLA15AZ36AJ3NA, MLA15AZ48AJ3NA, and MLA15AZ60AJ3NA. The air conditioner has cooling efficiencies up to 15.2 SEER2/9.8 EER2 and nominal sizes ranging from 2 to 5 tons [7.0 to 17.6 kW]. The cooling capacities range from 22.8 to 56.0 kBTU [6.68 to 16.4 kW].
Product Usage Instructions
- Install the air conditioner with a 24V two-stage thermostat for 3-speed operation.
- Ensure precise temperature control, advanced humidity control, and greater efficiency by using the recommended thermostat.
- Identify the model number of your air conditioner using the provided chart. The model number contains information about the brand, product category, SEER2 rating, region, refrigerant, capacity in BTU/HR, major series, voltage, type, controls, and minor series.
- Refer to the general data section for specific information about each model’s nominal tonnage, valve connections, number of blades, motor hp, CFM, RPM, and watts.
- Check the electrical data section for rated load amps and locked rotor amps for each model at 208/230-1-60 voltage.
- Optional accessories are available for the MLA15AZ Air Conditioner. Refer to the accessories section for model numbers of accessories such as compressor crankcase heater, low ambient control, compressor sound cover, low-pressure control, high-pressure control, liquid line solenoid, and solenoid coil.
- The weighted sound power level in dBA is provided for each unit size and voltage series. The typical octave band spectrum is also provided for various frequencies.
- Note that the sound power level with a sound blanket is not listed in AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) standards.

Application Guidelines
- Intended for outdoor installation with free air inlet and outlet. Outdoor fan external static pressure available is less than 0.01 -in. wc.
- The minimum outdoor operation air temperature for a cooling mode without a low-ambient operation accessory is 55°F (12.8°C).
- Maximum outdoor operating air temperature is 125°F (51.7°C).
- For reliable operation, the unit should be level in all horizontal planes.
- Use only copper wire for electric connections at unit. Aluminum and clad aluminum are not acceptable for the type of connector provided.
- Do not apply capillary tube indoor coils to these units.
- Factory-supplied filter drier must be installed.

NOTES:
- Do not exceed 150 ft. linear line length.
- Do not exceed 50 ft. vertical separation if the outdoor unit is above the indoor unit.
- 3/4″ suction line should only be used for 2-ton systems if the outdoor unit is below or at the same level as the indoor to ensure proper oil return.
- Always use the smallest liquid line allowable to minimize refrigerant charge.
- Applications shaded in light gray indicate capacity multipliers between 0.90 and 0.96 which are not recommended but are allowed.
- Applications shaded in dark gray are not recommended due to excessive liquid or suction pressure drop.
