- Obtain an active working cell card.
- Insert the cell card into the panel.
- Ensure that the cell card is properly connected and recognized by the panel.
- Access the panel’s programming menu.
- Use the active working cell card to change the panel programming as desired.
By using an active working cell card, you can bypass the blocked default option and modify the panel’s programming settings. Ensure that you follow the instructions carefully to avoid any potential issues or errors.
Panel Access
Getting into the panel when the default option is blocked
- If you come across a panel where the installer code is not known or is not working, and you cannot default the panel because that option has been disabled in programming, you must use an active working cell card to change the panel programming.
- Q44 and Q45 on the CP21 or GC2e
- Q2 and Q3 on the GC3 and the GC3e
Insert an active registered cell card to change the programming
- Insert an active working cell card that has been previously communicating with alarm.com or Secure Net.
- Please note you cannot insert a new cell card and attempt this action because the cell card must be activated previously and communicating with Alarm.com or Secure Net.
- Next, you will use the tool kit or the back-end software for remote programming and change the following questions in programming:
For the CP21 & GC2e
- Change Q-44 Select lock installer programming to a (0) to disable the lockout state for the panel.
- Change Q-45 Select lock default programming to a (0) to allow the panel to be defaulted.
For the GC3 & GC3e
- Change Q2: Lock installer programming to disable. This will allow the installer code to work if you have the right installer code.
- Change Q3: Lock default programming to allow a reset of all defaults. This will allow the panel to be defaulted.
- Once these options have been changed you will be able to get into the installer toolbox for further programming
