Product Usage Instructions

To use the AIRS-400 Aircraft Image Recording System, follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure that the AIRS-400 is properly installed in your aircraft. It can be either factory-installed or retrofitted.
  2. If using any optional input/output interfaces (Power RS-422, ICS, ARINC 429, Ethernet, Audio Out, GPS, Cellular), connect them to their respective devices or systems as per the provided instructions.
  3. For image recording, set the desired image frame rate and size using the appropriate configuration options in the system.
  4. If audio recording is required, adjust the ICS input range and audio input per ED-112 max input voltage settings as needed.
  5. The AIRS-400 also features an inertial measurement unit (IMU) for capturing motion data. Ensure that the IMU record rate, rotational rate range, acceleration range, and sense axis are properly configured.
  6. If GPS data is desired, make sure the GPS constellations supported are selected, and the GPS receiver type and update rate are set accordingly.
  7. Check the available on-board flash memory storage capacity and, if necessary, insert a compatible SD card to expand the storage capacity.
  8. If using ARINC 429 support, select the desired baud rate (12.5 or 100 Kbps).
  9. For wired communication, connect the system to an Ethernet network using the appropriate cable as per the IEEE 802.3U (100BASE-TX) standard. If using RS-422, ensure compliance with ANSI / TIA / EIA-422-B standards.
  10. If cellular communication is required, ensure that the AIRS-400 supports the desired LTE bands and configure the system accordingly.
  11. Refer to the general specifications for information on input supply voltage, input supply current, weight, dimensions, operating temperature, and time to record power application.
