Getting Started

About Galeo
Galeo is a system used to track your bike. It consists of a bike-mounted device and a smartphone app that is used to communicate with the device.
Compatible Devices
Visit FindGaleo.com for a list of compatible devices.

Powering on and Charging Galeo

Plug in the device to a wall outlet or computer USB port using the included USB cable to wake it up from shipping mode. After that, the unit is always on unless it is powered off in the app.
Make sure that your device is fully charged before using it. The light on the device will blink when it’s charging, and shine steady when it’s fully charged. 600890-000072, rev 0.2, 10/06/20

Downloading the Galeo app
To interface with Galeo, download the Galeo app from the App Store® or Google Play Store and install it onto your phone.
Setting up Galeo
Follow the steps below to set up your Galeo for the first time.
IMPORTANT: When prompted, make sure to allow Galeo to use your location and Bluetooth. This enables the app to communicate with the device.

  1. Open the Galeo app and follow the on-screen steps to create an account. Then, log in to the account.
  2. Tap Add a new Galeo. Plug in the device to a wall outlet or computer USB port to wake it up from shipping mode, then tap Continue.
  3. Tap Pair to pair the device with your phone.
  4. Enter a name for the device, then tap Continue.
  5. Edit the settings for the device, then tap Continue. For more information on these settings, see Changing Galeo Settings on page 3.
  6. Tap Add another if you have another Galeo, or tap Proceed to Payment if you’re done adding devices.
  7. Select a data plan, then tap Add Plan. Enter payment information, then tap Continue.

Mounting a Galeo

Uninstall your bike water bottle mount. Then, install the Galeo bike mount in that location.
Locating a Galeo
When you tap on a device, you will see its location on a map.
Location Buttons
An unlock symbol indicates that the device is connected to Bluetooth.

  • Tap the pointer icon to zoom out and show the location on a larger map.
  • Tap Update Location to show the current location.
  • Tap the arrow icon to open the location in the Maps app.

Location Accuracy
The colored circle around the device on the map indicates the area where the device is located.

Circle Color Meaning
Orange Shows location based on its precise GPS location.
Green Shows location based on the cell tower that it’s pinging. If a GPS

location fails, you will get the option to view its cell tower location. This is a less precise location than the orange GPS location.
Red| The app failed to find the location of the device.

Changing Galeo Settings

Swipe up on the bottom of the map screen to edit settings.
Galeo Name: Edit your device name.
Alert when out of range: Receive an app notification when the device is outside of Bluetooth range.
Alert when moved: Receive an app notification when the unit detects movement. If your device is within Bluetooth range, this alert will be disabled.
Buzzer Volume: Allow the device to emit a sound when you tap the Sound Alarm button in the app.
Button Enabled: Enables the button on the unit. Disable this if you don’t want the button to power the unit (such as if you’re packing the unit in a suitcase).
Data Plan: View data plan information, and edit or cancel the plan.
Remove/Replace
Replace: Copy the settings and data from the existing device onto a new one.
Remove: Erase all settings, data, and cancel the data plan on your device.

Updating Galeo Firmware

Tap the settings icon, then tap Updating Galeo. Enable the switch to allow automatic updates when in range of the device.

Powering off and Resetting Galeo

Powering Off Galeo
Swipe up on the bottom of the map screen, then tap About Galeo. Tap Ship and Store, then tap Yes to power off the device. To turn the device back on, hold the button in the middle of the unit for 20 seconds.
Resetting Galeo to Factory Settings
Swipe up on the bottom of the map screen, then tap About Galeo. Tap Reset Device to Factory Settings, then tap Yes to reset the device.
