Precautions on the use of headphones

Before using the headphones, be sure to read the attached document “Precautions on the use of headphones”.

Using the headphones

About the earpieces
Select the ear pieces providing the best fit from among four sizes: XS, S, M, and L (133 A).

NOTE

  • Fit the earpieces securely on the nozzle of the headphones.
  • The ear pieces may deteriorate after extended use or storage

Using the headphones

Check the left/right markings on the headphones, then insert them so they fit snugly inside your ear, the one marked “R” in your right ear, and the one marked “L” in your left ear.

Using the slider and clip

  • Adjust the position of the slider to take up any slack in the right and left cables (1D).
  • The cord can be attached to a clothing pocket, etc., using the included clip (1 B).
  • Using the cable holder Storing the headphones Set the headphones in the indentations at the center of the cable holder.

NOTE

  • Loosely wind the cables and store them in the cable holder. Winding the cables tightly could cause line breakage.
  • Before winding the cables and storing them in the cable holder, unplug the cable from the device.

Safety precautions

  • To prevent hearing damage, avoid using your headphones at such a high volume that it irritates your ears.
  • Before turning on the power of a connected device, turn the volume all the way down. A sudden burst of loud sound could be harmful to your ears and cause hearing loss.
  • Do not use headphones while driving a bicycle, motorcycle, or automobile. Doing so could lead to an accident.
  • In the interest of safety, keep the volume of your headphones at a level at which surrounding sounds can still be heard.
  • Do not put in water or get wet.
  • Do not place heavy objects on, heat, or pull on the headphones.
  • Doing so may damage or deform them. Store the earpieces out of the reach of children to prevent small children from accidentally swallowing them.
  • Do not remove any screws, disassemble, or rework the headphones. Ask your place of purchase for internal checkups, adjustments, and repairs of the headphones.

Caution on handling

  • Be sure to hold the plug when unplugging the cable.
  • Do not place undue stress on the cable, as this can result in wire disconnection or damage. Observe the following for correct usage.
  • Do not pull on the cable unduly.
  • Do not pull too hard on the cord when attaching it to or removing it from the included clip.
  • Do not fold the cable.
  • Do not allow a portable device to hang from the headphones.
  • Do not wrap the cable around the portable device.
  • If you allow a portable device to hang from the headphones, it may become disconnected and fall. Take care as DENON does not guarantee portable devices.
  • Metal parts will come in contact with your skin. People with allergies to metal should not use these headphones.
  • If you feel that the headphones irritate your skin, stop using them and contact a physician or the sales outlet for advice.
  • Do not use benzene, thinners, or other organic solvents or insecticides on the main unit since they may cause a change in quality or color.
  • Sound leaks out from the headphones when the volume is too high, which may annoy people around you. Please be considerate and lower the volume.

Caution on the battery

  • Be sure to turn this headphone’s power switch off when replacing the battery.
  • Use a RO3/AAA alkaline battery in this headphone. Using other batteries may result in a shorter operating time. The supplied battery is only for verifying operation.
  • Insert the battery in the proper direction, following the @ and O marks in the battery compartment.
  • To prevent damage or leakage of battery fluid:
  • Do not attempt to charge the dry battery.
  • Do not short-circuit, disassemble, heat, or dispose of the battery in a fire.
  • If the battery fluid leaks, carefully wipe the fluid off the inside of the battery compartment and insert a new battery.
  • Remove the battery from this headphone if it will not be used for a long time.
  • Used battery in accordance with local regulations on battery disposal.
  • Do not keep the battery near a fire source, in a place exposed to direct sunlight, inside a car in the hot sun, or in places with extremely high temperatures, such as near a heater.
