SECURITY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time and keep them for future reference. FLAMA shall not be liable for any use that is not in accordance with the instructions. Please check that the supply voltage of your home electrical system corresponds to the voltage on the appliance’s rating plate. This appliance must be connected to an earthed socket. The appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or separate remote control system. This appliance was designed for household, indoor use only. This appliance is intended for households and similar uses, such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in stores, workshops and other working environments;
- Cottages;
- Guests of hotels, motels and other residential environments
- Hotel room-type environments.
This appliance may be used by children aged 8 and over and persons with
physical, sensory, or mental disabilities or lack of experience and knowledge
if they have received supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of
the appliance and understand the risks involved. Children must not play with
the appliance. The cleaning and maintenance of the appliance must not be
carried out by children unless they are over 8 years old and supervised. Keep
the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children under the age of
8.
Warning – The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the
appliance is switched on.
Please disconnect the appliance from the power supply by removing the plug
from the power socket after each use and when cleaning. Please allow it to
cool down before carrying out any cleaning or storage operations.
Before switching on the appliance, please make sure you place it on a flat,
stable, and horizontal surface. Do not use the appliance if the power cord or
the plug are damaged, have them replaced immediately at an Authorized FLAMA
Technical Assistance Service. If the power cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or similarly qualified
personnel in order to avoid a hazard. The appliance must never be used near
flammable or combustible materials. Never leave the appliance unattended. Do
not cover the appliance while it is switched on. Do not disassemble the
appliance. The appliance must only be used for cooking food. Using it for
other purposes may cause irreparable damage. Never immerse the appliance in
water or any other liquid.
WARNING: Charcoal or other fuels should not be used with this appliance.

OPERATION
Before the first use
Remove all the labels, stickers, and tags, except the plate of product
characteristics. Clean the appliance as described in the Cleaning and
Maintenance section.
Use
CAUTION: Do not use this appliance to cook or defrost frozen food. All
foods must be completely thawed before cooking them with this appliance.
NOTE – during the first minutes of operation (only upon first use), the
appliance may release some smoke and odours, which soon disappear. Completely
unwind the power cord.
Place the appliance on a flat horizontal surface, ensuring that the power cord
is not stretched. Use the plate locking device to lock and/or unlock the
plates. Lightly brush the surface of the plates with cooking oil. Close the
appliance and connect it to the plug. Connect the power cord plug to the power
socket. If using an extension, make sure that it is earthed and suitable for
6A. The on/off indicator light should switch on, indicating that the appliance
is connected to the power socket and heating up.
WARNING: The non-stick plates and surfaces of the appliance may heat up
during its operation. To prevent risk of burning, only touch the appliance
using the handle. Allow the non-stick plates to preheat; the on/off indicator
light switches off. Use the handle to raise the upper plate. Place the food on
the lower plate, if necessary, using a heat-resistant wooden or plastic
utensil.
CAUTION: Do not use metal utensils on the non-stick plates, as they could
damage the non-stick coating irreparably.
Lower the upper plate using the handle. While the appliance is being used, the
on/off indicator light switches off and on, which is normal, indicating that
the cooking temperature is maintained. To release the non-stick plates, slide
the locking button. To reinsert the plates, slot the plates into the rear
fixtures and press next to the locking buttons until the plates are fixed.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Turn off the appliance by removing the power cord plug from the power socket
and allow it to cool.
When it is completely cold:
Remove the plates and wash them by hand with hot water and a non-abrasive
detergent. Do not use abrasive utensils or sponges, so as not to damage the
non-stick coating. If necessary, leave the plates to soak for a few hours.
Wash and clean with a soft and dry cloth. Do not place the plates in the
washing-up machine. Clean the exterior parts of the appliance with a damp
cloth and dry with a soft cloth. After cleaning, close the appliance, locking
the handle lock. The appliance can be stored vertically.
DANGER – Never immerse the appliance or part of it in water or any other
liquid.
ANOMALIES AND REPAIR
In case of malfunction, please take the appliance to an authorized Technical
Assistance Service. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the appliance, as
this may be dangerous.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
This symbol indicates the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment. The main objective of the separate collection of this waste is to reduce the quantity to be disposed of and promote re-use, recycling, and other forms of recovery in order to reduce its negative effects on the environment. When it is no longer in use, this appliance must not be disposed of together with other unsorted municipal waste. The user is responsible for delivering it free of charge to the selective collection facilities available for that purpose. Pieces of equipment that are no longer in use can also be taken back at points of sale, by purchasing new pieces of equipment that are equivalent and have the same functions. For more detailed information on collection points, please contact your City Council or a point of sale for this equipment.
