SECURITY INSTRUCTIONS

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time and keep them for future reference. FLAMA shall not be liable for any use that is not in accordance with the instructions.

Please check that the supply voltage of your home electrical system corresponds to the voltage on the appliance’s rating plate. The appliance is suitable for outdoor use. The appliance must be supplied by a residual current circuit breaker with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.

This appliance must be connected to an earthed socket. This appliance may be used by children aged 8 and over and persons with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have received supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the risks involved.

Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

Before switching on the appliance, please make sure you place it on a flat, stable and horizontal surface. Keep the appliance and its power cord out of the reach of children under the age of 8, when it is switched on or cooling down. The appliance must only be used for cooking food. Using it for other purposes may cause irreparable damage.

Please disconnect the appliance from the power supply by removing the plug from the fixed power socket after each use and when cleaning. Please allow it to cool down before carrying out with any cleaning or storage operations.

The cleaning and maintenance of the appliance must not be carried out by children unless they are supervised. Do not use the appliance if it is not working properly, or if it is in any way damaged. Any intervention other than cleaning must be carried out by an Authorized FLAMA Technical Assistance Service.

The power cord should be examined regularly for signs of damage, and if the cord is damaged, the appliance must not be used.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or similarly qualified

personnel in order to avoid a hazard. The appliance must never be used near flammable or combustible materials.

Never leave the appliance unattended. Do not cover the appliance while it is switched on. Do not disassemble the appliance. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
WARNING: Charcoal or other fuels should not be used with this appliance.

ASSEMBLY

Assembling the cooking plate

Place the grill body on a dry, stable, and level surface.

Place the cooking plate on the grill body so that the fat drain on the cooking plate is aligned with the drain in the body and with the fat collection tray.

Make sure that the plate is perfectly fitted to the body

Assembling the wind guard

Fit the ends of the wind guard into the lateral wind guard supports. From above, fit the wind guard into the rear wind guard supports. Make sure that the windbreak panel is perfectly fitted to the body

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Before first use

Handwash the cooking plate with hot water and a non-abrasive detergent. To prevent damage to the non-stick coating, do not use abrasive utensils or scrubbers. Clean with a soft and dry cloth. Do not wash the cooking plate in the dishwasher.

When you turn on the appliance for the first time, it will produce a slight odor. This odor is normal and only temporary, it will disappear in a few minutes. Make sure the area is well ventilated.

Use

Assemble the grill according to the directions in the “Assembly” section. Place the grill on a level, stable, and fireproof surface in an appropriate location. Plug the grill into a grounded outlet. Slide the temperature control to the “MAX” position. The indicator light will turn on. Once the set temperature has been reached, the indicator light will turn off. During use, the indicator light will turn on and off; this is normal and means that the temperature is constantly being adjusted. For best results, allow the grill to heat up for a few minutes before placing food on it. Place the food on the cooking plate. To reduce the temperature, slide the temperature control to the left, such as when cooking delicate foods like fish or mushrooms. Slide the temperature control to the “0” position to stop heating. Remove the food from the cooking plate. Remove the fat collection tray, empty it and 16 www.flama.pt put it back in place. To turn off the grill, unplug it from the wall outlet. Allow the grill to cool completely. Clean the grill according to the directions in the “Cleaning and maintenance” section.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING

Use the handles to transport the grill, but only after it has cooled completely to avoid burns.

Damage risk!

Incorrectly cleaning the grill, the cooking plate, the fat collection tray, the wind guard, and other parts may damage the grill.

Do not attempt to wash the grill in the dishwasher.

Never attempt to wash the grill by submerging it in liquid and do not use a steam cleaner

Do not use aggressive cleaning products, such as alkaline or bleach-based cleaning products and sharp or metallic cleaning tools, such as knives, hard scrapers or similar.

Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and wait until it cools down completely.

Never pour cold water on the hot plate as this will damage the appliance and may cause splashes of hot water.

Remove and empty the fat collection tray. Remove the wind guard (if assembled).

Remove the cooking plate from the grill body

Clean the heating element with a dry cloth.

Clean the body with a damp cloth and detergent. Never use aggressive and abrasive cleaning products, metal scourers or steel wool as they may cause damage.

Handwash the cooking plate, the fat collection tray, and the wind guard with hot water and a non-abrasive detergent. Do not use abrasive utensils or scrubbers to prevent damage to the non-stick coating. Clean with a soft and dry cloth. Do not wash the cooking plate in the dishwasher.

Store the grill in a dry place with the cooking plate mounted in position to protect the heating element from damage

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Cause Solution
The grill does not heat up. The grill is not plugged in. The temperature
control is set to “0”. Plug the appliance into a wall outlet. Slide the

temperature control to a heating position.
The grill turns off on its own.| The selected temperature has been reached; the thermostat turns off automatically.| The thermostat turns on automatically when the temperature drops. Slide the temperature control to a higher heating position.

ANOMALIES AND REPAIR

In case of malfunction, please take the  appliance to an authorized Technical Assistance Service. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the appliance, as this may be dangerous.

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

This symbol indicates the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment.

The main objective of the separate collection of this waste is to reduce the quantity to be disposed of, promote reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery in order to reduce its negative effects on the environment.

When it is no longer in use, this appliance must not be disposed of together with other unsorted municipal waste.

The user is responsible for delivering it free of charge to the selective collection facilities available for that purpose.

Pieces of equipment that are no longer in use can also be taken back at points of sale, by purchasing new pieces of equipment that are equivalent and have the same functions.
