SET-UP
-
Install stand
make sure the indent (A) of the rod is in line with threaded pin (B). Install stand in hole (C) in the rear of the item. Secure (pull tight) threaded pin (Busing Allen key (D). -
Install chuck
make sure the indent (E) in the drive shaft is in line with threaded pin (F) in the chuck. Secure threaded pin (F) with Allen key (H) in your hardware bag. -
Install stirrer on stand
Install clamp (I) on stand (J).
Now introduce stirrer attaching rod (K) into clamp (I).
Adjust position and secure (pull tight) with two clamp screws (L). -
Install stirring tool Introduce stirring tool (N) in chuck (G), put in place and secure with Thandle (M). Immersion depth of your stirring tool (N) is adjusted by displacing the tool in and out in the open (G) chuck (except RZR 2102 control Z).
Refer to arrow mark. -
Install flexible coupling shaft (P/N 509-03000-00)
Hold the flexible coupling shaft (O) in the chuck (G) by its metallic stud (P) and secure with T-handle. At this point introduce stirring tool’s (N) shaft end in collet (Q) and pull tight (CW turn).
When using the flexible coupling shaft make sure to install an adequate run- out protection, e.g. our enclosure (P/N 509-09000-00) -
Install shaft guard (P/N 509-08000-00)
A shaft guard (R) is available as an extra safety protection feature.

OPERATION AND CONTROLS
1 Turn item ON
Set speed control (4) to its extreme left position (CCW). When turning the
power switch (1) ON, the following info will appear in the display (5)
followed by speed and torque; at standstill, „rpm“ in line 1 will change
between rpm and OFF, which means the item is ready to go.
2 Speed setting
2.1 RZR 2051 control, RZR 2052 control, RZR 2102 control and RZR 2102
control Z
At standstill of the item, speed may be preselected with the rotary speed
control (4). RZR 2051 control speed range includes 50 – 2000 rpm, the RZR 2051
control features 30 – 1000, the RZR 2102 control features 12 – 400 and 60 –
2000 in 2 ranges and the RZR 2102 control Z features 4 – 108 and 17 – 540 in 2
ranges. Speed selected appears in line 1 of display (5).
Hitting the ON/OFF key (2), the stirrer is going to speed-up to the level
selected, after a short pause.
Acceleration is smooth, thus preventing the medium from splashing.
Whenever changing speed with rotary control (4) while running, display is
going to show nominal speed.
For convenience, nominal speed is displayed with the “ „ prefix. This prefix
disappears, when actual speed is displayed !
2.2 RZR 2102 control and RZR 2102 control Z
This stirrer features two different speed ranges:
RZR 2102 control:
range I: 12 – 400 rpm RZR 2102 control Z: | range II: 60 – 2000 rpm |
---|---|
range I: 4 – 108 rpm | range II: 17 – 540 rpm |
Transmission ratio is obtained with the RANGE key (8). Speed range actually
selected is displayed by an LED (9 or 10).
At standstill, speed may be selected with the speed control (4), within both
speed ranges (I or II). In standby mode, the display (5) shows the speed value
(set-mode).
Change speed range, RZR 2102 control and RZR 2102 control Z
Select your speed range with the RANGE key (8). LEDs (9) and (10) confirm the
range selected. When switching from range I to II, stirring speed is
multiplied by factor five.
Note:
To avoid splashes (in particular when open containers are used), speed range
cannot be changed unless the item has been turned OFF before.
How to proceed:
- turn stirrer OFF with ON/OFF key (2)
- turn speed control (4) to its extreme left position (CCW) (= low speed)
- change speed with key (8)
- turn item ON with ON/OFF key (2)
- set speed with speed control (4)
- speed appears in display (5), line 1
You may change from range II to range I at any time without any extra precautions necessary.
3. Torque display
Both stirrers feature a digital display (5) for stirring torque (line 2).
Before measuring, you need to „zero“ your torque display ( = 0,0 Ncm), to
benefit of the highest accuracy available from this system (refer to
stipulations below). This is of particular importance, when changing stirrer
speed.
How to „zero“ the torque display:
- allow the stirrer to warm at max. speed for about 20 minutes.
- define speed needed for your particular job
- select standby mode with the ON/OFF key (2)
- lift stirring tool with stirrer out of the medium, or remove stirring tool from chuck (refer to para. 4 „setup“). This way, the motor won’t be able to build up any torque while spinning.
- turn item ON with ON/OFF key (2)
- with the motor running, hit the „cal“ key (7), display (5) is going to change to „0,0“ Ncm in line 2
- turn the item OFF, re-install stirring tool in (refer to para. 4 „set-up“), or immerse your system in the medium again
- at this point you have an accurate torque reading
4. Interfaces
4.1 Interface connection
Turn power switch (1) to OFF before attempting to connect an interface. To
connect your interface, you will need an interface cable with SUBHDD 15
connector which fits the socket (11) located in the item’s rear panel.
