    1. Put on the lifejacket like a jacket.
    2. Close the front buckle.
    3. Adjust the strap for a secure fit.
    4. Close the crutch strap buckle.
    5. The lifejacket will automatically inflate after water immersion (if equipped with automatic inflator) or can be manually inflated by pulling the release handle.
    6. Ensure that all buckles are closed and adjustments are tight before entering the water.
  • Automatic Inflation:

    • The buoyancy chamber of automatically inflated lifejackets will inflate within approximately 5 seconds after water immersion.
  • Manual Inflation:

    • To manually inflate the lifejacket, pull the release handle located on the right-hand side of the lifejacket.
    • Alternatively, open the protective cover and blow air into the oral inflation tube located on the left-hand side of the buoyancy chamber.

REPLACING THE CO2 CYLINDER AND BOBBIN – HALKEY ROBERTS® 1F

Automatic inflator
After use in freshwater dry the lifejacket.
If the lifejacket has been used in saltwater, it must be rinsed with freshwater and then dried. Remove any air in the lifejacket using the oral inflation valve.
DISASSEMBLY (see figures 2 and 3 on page 18 and 19)

Step 1:
Unpack or open the lifejacket so that the inflator is visible. Remove the protective neoprene cover. Slide the cylinder holder and O-ring (figure 2) down so it is not holding on to the manifold nut. Unscrew the cylinder from the inflator.

Step 2:
Remove gas CO2 cylinder by rotating cylinder counter-clockwise and removing the cylinder from holder and O-ring. Discard cylinder.

Step 3:
Remove cap by turning counter-clockwise.

Step 4:
Remove the bobbin from the cap or housing unit. Discard bobbin (yellow). Check the housing to be sure it is clear and dry.

Note: The bobbin (yellow) body may remain in the housing or in the cap assembly when you remove the cap. The bobbin body must be removed before rearming.

REARMING

Note: Rearming must follow the sequence below.

Step 5:
A new bobbin must be used. New bobbin must have been purchased within four (4) years. If the bobbin purchase date is unknown, check the date on the bobbin and replace it if it is more than four (4) years.

Step 6:

IMPORTANT!
Bobbin (yellow) must be installed into the housing (Figure 3), white side up, aligning the slots on the bobbin with the ridges inside the threaded housing. The bobbin will slide in easily if installed correctly.

Step 7:
Install cap by screwing clockwise until it meets the housing shoulder.
Note: There should be no gap between the cap and the housing shoulder.

Step 8:
Check the new cylinder to be sure it has not been punctured.

Step 9:
Install a new cylinder by engaging the cylinder threads with the inflator threads. Turn the cylinder clockwise till a firm seal is achieved.

WARNING: Lifejacket will only inflate if the cylinder is turned to a full stop.
Slide the O-ring and the cylinder holder onto the holder and into the groove (Figure 2).

VIKING-PV9210-Inflatable-Life-Jacket-3
Slide the cylinder holder and O-ring over the cylinder. The cylinder holder and O-ring assembly should be holding the manifold nut.
Attach the protective neoprene cover.

VIKING-PV9210-Inflatable-Life-Jacket-4

Step 10:
Make sure the service indicator is green.

Manual inflator (See figure 4 on page19)

  • After use in freshwater dry the lifejacket. If the lifejacket has been used in saltwater, it must be rinsed with freshwater and then dried. Empty the lifejacket of air using the oral inflation valve.
  • Unscrew and discard the used CO2 cylinder (1).
  • If the release arm (3) has been pulled, push it back in place and attach the lock pin (4) above the release arm.
  • Gasket (2) under the CO2 cylinder must be removed and discarded. Insert a new gasket in the inflator (5).
  • Install the CO2 cylinder into the inflator (5) and hand tighten.

STORAGE
We recommend that the lifejacket is stored in a dry place, possibly suspended on a hanger in a wardrobe. Unintended inflation may occur. This may be due to a combination of moisture and vibration. If service

APPLICATIONS AND LIMITATIONS

VIKING RescYouTM Horizon (PV9210) lifejacket is designed for yachting and working purposes within the shipping and offshore industry.

WARNING: In cold environments inflation may be slower and lower performance may result.
The lifejacket has been tested in water
temperatures ranging from -1°C to 30°C. At water temperatures below zero, automatic inflation may be delayed. If so, release it manually.
Full performance may not be achieved using waterproof clothing or in other circumstances, for instance special clothing such as sailor’s wear with buoyancy as it may reduce lifejacket’s ability to turn an unconscious person in the water.
The lifejacket must be fully inflated for it to function as a lifejacket. Do not use as a cushion.
Never wear other clothing or harness over the lifejacket.
Please note that a lifejacket fitted with Hammar® inflators only inflates automatically when submerged in water deeper than 10 cm.
