HFP02 Electric Freestanding Fireplace
This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use.
This symbol invites you to read these instructions carefully before using
the appliance, and also inform third parties of them, if necessary. Store this
booklet for future reference and for the entire lifetime of the device. If any
parts of these instructions prove difficult to understand or if in doubt,
contact the company at the address written on the last page before using the
product.
This symbol highlights instructions and precautions for safe use. Warnings and
appliance installation, use, cleaning and maintenance procedures may be
updated slightly from those described in this manual; for further details,
please consult the updated on-line manual at

GENERAL ADVISE

This appliance is destined only to the heating of internal domestic or similar environments and in compliance with these instructions. It can be considered only a supplementary source of heating and not as a central heating element.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
– staff kitchen in shops, offices and other working environments;
– farm houses
– by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
– bed and breakfast type environments -
The appliance must not be used in dusty environments or in the presence of extremely volatile materials which could obstruct grids or heat exchanger, nor in very damp environments, in the presence of inflammable products, or out of doors in the open. Any other use is to be considered inappropriate and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for eventual damage caused by inappropriate, improper or irresponsible use and/or for repairs made to the product by unauthorised personnel.

The appliance gets hot when working; so only touch the switches. Avoid contact with the heating element.

Assembly and use the appliance only with the components supplied, not to compromise the safety of use. Periodically check the good condition of the appliance and components (glass, wall bracket, etc..): When in doubt, consult an authorized service center and ensure that the parts supplied are original.

If the appliance should fall over or shows signs of faulty operation, disconnect the electrical cable immediately. Check that no part is damaged and switch it on after the appliance has been thoroughly checked: in case of doubt, contact qualified professional personnel.

Attention: when using electric appliances, the basic safety precautions must always be observed to avoid risks of fire, electric shocks and physical injury.

Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

CAUTION: Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Do not use this appliance in a room with an area of less than 4m².

Caution: During operation any glare and / or bright reflections are normal due to the effect flame.

The protection system (front grid) of this heating device has been designed to prevent direct access to the heating elements and must be maintained in its position during use of the apparatus heating. The protection system does not guarantee full protection to children and the infirm.

Do not move the appliance when it is in function.

Do not use the appliance if it is not operating correctly or seems damaged; if in doubt, contact professionally qualified personnel.

Do not use this heater in the immediate surrounding of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.

Unplug the appliance when not in use.

Do not touch the heater with wet hands or feet.

Never use the appliance to dry damp garments.

Do not expose the heater to the weather (sun, rain, etc.).

Do not pull on the power cord or the appliance to unplug the appliance from the wall socket. Never move the appliance by pulling the cord.

If the electric cord is damaged, it has to be replaced by the supplier or an authorized service center or a professionally qualified, to avoid any risks.

The appliance must not be positioned immediately under a socket.

Do not use the appliance with a timer or a programmer or with a system that can switch on the appliance automatically, to avoid risk of fire, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly. Check that no other high absorption appliances are connected to the same power source.

Do not use this heater the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.

The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-oulet.

If the suppy cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.
INSTALLATION
- After removing the packing materials, check the integrity of the heater; if you are unsure, do not use it and ask for qualified professional help. The packing materials (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, etc.) must be kept out the reach of children because they are potential sources of danger. All packaging elements must be disposed of according to their raw material (see the symbol stamped on each one) and according to the provisions of their municipality. The bag containing the screws or other parts, which is unmarked due to its small size, therefore you have to follow the procedures for the disposal of their municipality.
- Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage shown on the data plate matches that of your electricity and that the electric plug is grounded. In the event of incompatibility between the electric outlet and the plug of the heater, have the outlet replaced with another more suitable type by professionally qualified personnel, who will make sure that the section of the wires of the outlet is appropriate for the absorbed power of the heater (10A). In general, the use of adapters or extension cords is not recommended; if their use is indispensable, they must conform to existing safety standards and their current capacity (amperes) must not be less that the maximum of the heater.
- Before each use, verify that the heater is in good condition and that the electrical cord is not damaged: in the case of doubt, ask for professionally qualified help.
- Don’t hang it on the wall.
- Make sure that the cable is correctly positioned and that it is not in contact with hot parts or sharp edges, nor wrapped around the device or twisted.
- The power socket must be easy to reach so the plug can be removed quickly in case of emergency.
- Position the fan heater far from other sources of heat, inflammable materials (curtains, carpets, etc.), inflammable gases or explosive materials (spray cans) and from materials that can deform on exposure to heat. Make sure that there is 120 cm of free space in front of the fan heater and 50 cm on the sides and back.
- The support surface must be stable (exclude shelf) and not sloping (since the heater could tip over).
- Make sure that the air-intake grids and heating element are not obstructed by objects, fabrics or anything else to avoid the heater overheating or breaking.
- In the case of a breakdown or fault, switch off the appliance and have it checked by a professionally qualified technician; repairs made by unqualified persons can be dangerous and render void the warranty.
Warning: the appliance must run only if its feet are correctly assembled.
- Always unplug the appliance before you assemble.
- Place the appliance upside down, position the feet near the edges of the base and fix each foot by the supplied screws, screwing with a force just to lock them; the 4 feet must be in adhesion to floor surface.
OPERATION
Before each use, verify that the unit is in good condition, the electric cord
is not damaged, if the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or a competent qualified electrician or a person with similar
qualifications, in order to avoid any risk.
First use: run the appliance to eliminate the “new smell” and any oil
residue from the manufacturing process for at least 10/15 minutes. During this
operation, ventilate the room well to eliminate the “new smell” that is given
off by the appliance.
The heater is equipped with the following adjustment devices (see below
picture):
Room thermostat (A). It adjusts the appliance’s functions according to the
temperature, continuously until reaching the set temperature, then at
intervals to keep it constant. By turning the relative knob completely anti-
clockwise the heating fan remains off (pos.”-“), when turned completely
clockwise it is set on the maximum temperature (pos.”+“), in intermediate
positions the surrounding temperature is lower.
- Main switch 0/I and the flame effect “ ” (B); pressing it in pos. “I” is activated and vice versa to turn it off “0”.
- Selection: minimum power (750W), “ ” (C); is activated by pressing the switch in pos. “ ” and the switch (B) in pos. “I”, vice versa to turn them off.
- Selection: maximum power (1500W): it is activated by pressing switches “ ” (C) + “ ” (D) in pos. “ ” and the switch (B) in pos. “I”, vice versa to turn them off.
- This device has a device against overheating: If the temperature exceeds a certain value, automatically stops the operation. Turn off appliance, remove the plug from the wall outlet, make sure the air outlet grille and the heating element are free of dust, lint, or whatever. Let the device cool (about 10/20 minutes). Insert the plug into the outlet, turn on the switch, select the features you want, will not boot or in case of doubt, consult a qualified professional.
To use the Fire place, follow these steps:
- Before to insert the plug in the power socket, check that the switch (B) is in pos. “0”.
- Insert the plug in the power socket.
- Switch on the appliance by press the switches to the position of the required function.
- Turn the thermostat knob to the temperature required.
- To turn off the heater, turn the switch to pos.“0”, turn the knob of the thermostat to pos.“-” and of the switches in pos.(0) and remove the plug from the socket.
If the appliance is not being used for long periods of time, remove the plug from the plug point.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Attention: before cleaning the heater, turn it off, remove the plug from the outlet and wait for it to cool.
- Periodically check that the air-intake grill is not obstructed by fuzz or threads.
- Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the body and glass; do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive products.
- For long periods of inactivity, you must cover it and place it in a dry place; it is advisable to put it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and humidity.
- A special tool is required to replace the lamp to flame effect: contact an authorized service center, also for any repairs.
- If you decide not to use the Fire place, we recommend that you make it inoperative by cutting the power cord (but first make sure you have removed the plug from the electrical outlet), and make those parts harmless that are dangerous when played with by children.
- Do not be covered under warranty all parts that may be defective for failure to follow the installation instructions, or use, or maintenance, for damages caused by shipment. Also included the replacement or repair of all parts subject to normal consumption (lamps), and also the removable parts (glass), and accessories for construction (strains in resin).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE
WITH EC DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EC.
**** At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as
urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated
waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a
household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the
environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the
constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy
and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances
separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.

General guarantee terms
Guarantee coverage starts from the moment of purchase of the appliance as
indicated by a fiscally mandatory delivery document (bill or tax receipt or
shipping document). Guarantee coverage lasts 24 months and terminates after
the prescribed term.
Guarantee coverage covers all replacements or repairs that become necessary
due to defects in material or manufacture.
Guarantee coverage does not cover all those parts which become defective due
to failure to comply with installation, operating or maintenance instructions,
shipping damage, operating neglect or negligence, improper use or any
circumstances which are not due to manufacturing defects of the appliance.
Guarantee coverage is also excluded for replacement or repair of all parts
subject to fair wear and tear or to expiry, as well as removable parts, light
bulbs, glass components, ceramic parts, external tubes, batteries and
disposable (throw-away) accessories.
Replacements or repairs that come under guarantee coverage are performed free
of charge for goods delivered free the Manufacturer’s factory or to one of our
Technical Service Centres. The Customer must only pay for shipping costs.
Guarantee coverage is not granted if repairs are performed by personnel not
belonging to authorized Technical Service Centres or when non-genuine spare
parts are used.
This warranty is governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws
in force in the country where the product is purchased.
