Frequently Asked Questions

Pioneer: a reliable sub brand?

One of the top manufacturers of automobile audio systems is Pioneer. Along with making fantastic subwoofers, they also produce some incredible head units. Since they were established in 1938, they have approximately 100 years of experience in business.

What is the power output of a Pioneer subwoofer?

This subwoofer has a maximum power output of 1300 watts, an RMS power output of 300 watts,4 Ohm impedance, and a sensitivity of 96 dB.
This sub allows you freedom as you install powerful sound in a tiny location because it is 12 inches in size and only requires a mounting depth of roughly 5.35 inches.

What’s the process of an active subwoofer?

Passive and active subwoofers differ in that an active subwoofer has an internal amplifier while a passive subwoofer relies on an external amplifier.

Can speakers be connected to an active subwoofer?

You can connect the receiver’s speaker output if the subwoofer’s structure features spring clips for speaker cable. The process is the same as connecting a standard stereo speaker. Connect the subwoofer to the receiver’s network like the speaker if the subwoofer comes with a single set of spring clips.

How long does a subwoofer take to break in?

We recommend a solid break in time of 20–24 hours. Overnight, you can set it up with a strong, clear signal. You are now prepared to install and continue your journey.

Do subwoofers need electricity?

A subwoofer (sometimes spelled sub) is a speaker that is specifically designed to reproduce the bass, which are low-pitched audio frequencies. Passive Sub: Passive subs are so-called because an external amplifier or Audio/Video (A/V) receiver is required to power them. Similar to conventional speakers, this

Can an active subwoofer be connected to an amplifier?

A powered subwoofer (also known as an active subwoofer) does not require an amplifier because it has one built in, although you can add one for data transmission alone. Connect the two together using RCA cables and power the powered sub by plugging it into the wall.

Can I combine passive speakers and an active subwoofer?

Surprisingly, both active and passive subwoofers are usable. To offer the speakers plenty of power sources, you must connect a special amplifier to them because the powered subwoofer’s integrated amplifier does not supply power to the external amplifier.

What is a subwoofer used for?

A subwoofer enables you to feel the sound, whereas bookshelf or floor-standing speakers only allow you to hear the bass. Watching a full-throttle action movie without a subwoofer or listening to bass-heavy music like hip hop or EDM both leave a lot to be desired.
Your battery may be drained by subwoofers.
Car Battery Drain From Subwoofers
Simply put, a car battery drains when it is not sufficiently charged. Subwoofer installation essentially increases the burden on your vehicle’s electrical system.

What does a subwoofer’s high level input mean?

Therefore, if you want a 2.1 system with a subwoofer and are using a stereo amplifier and speakers for music or movies, you can utilise the high-level connector on the sub to filter the low frequencies from the audio that is being sent to your stereo speakers.

Why won’t my subwoofer work?

Checking the fuse should be your first step if your subwoofer stops working. Replace it if it is blown and check to see if the issue is resolved. If it doesn’t, there can be another issue with the subwoofer, in which case you’ll need to have an expert fix it.

How safe are subwoofers?

The human eardrum may be damaged if great physical participation is created just
using a subwoofer. OSHA regulations state that employees exposed to 85 dB or more must wear hearing protection for an average of 8 hours.

What power output is suitable for a subwoofer?

A small-room subwoofer should have between 100 and 300 watts of power. Most homes find 100 watts to be enough. For larger venues, a subwoofer can be 400 watts or 600 watts. The norm for premium subwoofers is over 1000 watts.

Do subwoofers harm your property?

Conclusion regarding the sound from a subwoofer’s potential to harm a car. Subwoofers won’t harm the car’s mechanical or structural integrity, but they may loosen some of its components and cause damage.
