Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation holes are not obstructed by objects such as newspapers, clothes, curtains, etc.
  2. Control Buttons:
    • Pre-set Button: Used to pre-set favorite stations or settings.
    • LCD Screen: Displays information and settings.
    • Source Button: Used to select the audio source.
    • Select/Play/Pause Button: Used to select, play, or pause audio.
    • Sleep Mode/Light Button: Activates sleep mode or controls the display light.

  5. If using the radio for the first time, a quick scan of Band III DAB channels will be performed. If the radio has been used before, the last used station will be selected.

  8. DAB and FM Preset Recall:

The radio has multiple display options in DAB, FM, and Bluetooth modes. Use the information button to navigate between different options.

  1. Listening to Music via Bluetooth Streaming:
  2. For initial pairing and playback, activate Bluetooth on your device according to its user manual. Search for and connect to the radio.
  3. Additional Features:
    • Contrast: Adjusts the contrast of the display screen.

Important safety instructions

Using the touch panel

The CP-100D has a stylish touch panel instead of the usual buttons. To use the buttons, simply touch the button area with your fingertip for about half a second. Rest time and system menu functions marked with a dot ( ● ) can be accessed by long-pressing (2-3 seconds) the corresponding button until the radio display shows that the command has been accepted. At first, you may find that the radio does not always detect that you have touched the button. If so, try touching with a little more pressure or for a little longer. You will soon find the optimal touch needed to control the radio. The panel can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive substances, cleaning fluids or solvents.

NOTE:
The control panel automatically goes into dark sleep mode when not in use. To turn the backlight back on without activating this function, touch any function button on the panel. Then a second touch will start the function.

Touchpad sensitivity control

The sensitivity of the touch panel can be adjusted. The default setting is usually found to provide satisfactory performance, but the touch panel system may react differently depending on skin moisture. The sensitivity of the touch panel can be reduced or increased compared to the standard settings.

  1. Press the power button to turn on the radio.
  2. Press and hold the Menu button to enter the current mode menu.
  3. Turn the setup control to select “System Setup”. Press the Select button to enter the system settings menu.
  4. Turn the tuning control to select “Touchpad Sensitivity”. Press the Select button to enter the setting.
  5. Turn the tuning control to select the desired touch panel sensitivity level (1-5). The higher the value, the higher the sensitivity. The default setting is 3. Press the Select button to save the setting.

Loading the radio
The radio is powered by a built-in Li-ion battery that can be charged via either the USB charging port or a USB power adapter (not included) with a nominal output of DC 5V, 2.4A. Reduced power, distortion, stuttering sounds or “Low Battery” messages on the screen are all signs that the battery needs charging. When the “Low Battery” message appears on the screen, the LED indicator around the power button will flash white. Fully charge the battery before using the radio for the first time.
NOTE:
You can start using the radio while charging. Please note that in this case, make sure the USB power source is 5V 2.4A electrical current. Otherwise, it may damage the USB power supply.

  • Plug the micro USB plug (supplied) into the micro USB charging port on the back of the device.
  • Connect the standard USB plug end of the cable (supplied) to the power USB port of a computer or other USB charging device. While the battery is charging, the LED indicator around the power button lights up red. When the battery is fully charged, the red charging indicator will turn off.

Using the radio – DAB

  1. Insert the (supplied) external antenna connector into the external IN to the antenna socket on the back of the radio.
  2. Press the power button to turn on the radio.
  3. When the radio is used for the first time, Fast scanning of Band III DAB channels. If there is a radio used before, the last used station is selected.
  4. When detecting new stations during scanning the station counter increments and stations are added to the radio saved in the list. A bar chart shows the scan progress.
  5. When scanning is complete, the first station is selected (in numerical and alpha order 0…9…A….Z).
  6. If the station list is still empty after scanning, “No Service” is displayed on your radio. If no signals are found, it may be necessary to relocate the radio to a place with better reception.

Select a station – DAB

  1. Press the power button to turn on the radio.
  2. Press the Source button to select DAB radio mode.
  3. Turn to scroll through the list of available stations tuning control. Alternatively, the DAB menu to access the list of stations via holding the Menu button and then rotating the tuning control to select “Station List”.
  4. To select the desired station and tune to it press the Select button.
  5. Turn the volume control knob to set the volume as needed.

NOTE:
If a station does not tune in after selecting a station, it may be necessary to relocate the radio to a better place with reception.

Secondary services – DAB
Some radio stations may have one or more associated with them additional show. If available, they will appear immediately after the main station when you turn the tuning control. Press the Select button to tune in to the selected service.

Search for new stations – DAB
Over time, new stations may become available or you have moved your radio. In this case, you may have to let the radio search for new stations.

  1. While in DAB mode, press and hold the Menu button, to enter the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “Full Scan”.
  3. Press the Select button. Your radio will scan Band III DAB channels.

Increases when finding new radio stations station counter on the screen and radio stations are added to a list stored on the radio.

Manual tuning – DAB
Manual tuning allows you to tune directly for various Band III DAB channels (5A to 13F).

  1. In DAB mode, press and hold the Menu button to enter the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “Manual Tune”.
  3. Press to enter manual tuning option the Select button.
  4. Turn the tuning control to select the required DAB channel.
  5. Press the Select button so that the radio is selected for tuning to the channel.

Set up a station subscription – DAB
Your radio has 3 station sequence settings which you can choose from. Station order settings are alphanumeric, ensemble, and valid.

  1. In DAB mode, press and hold the Menu button to enter the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “Stationsorder”.
  3. Press the Select button to enter the station sequence adjustment mode.
  4. Turn the tuning knob to select “Alphanumeric”, “Ensemble” and “Valid”. “Alphanumeric” – sorts the list of stations alphanumeric 0…9 A…Z. “Ensemble” – organizes the DAB multiplex of the station list according to “Valid” – shows only those stations that are about possible to find a signal.
  5. Press the button to confirm the desired station order Select.

Dynamic Range Control Settings – DAB
Dynamic range control (also known as DRC) can make quieter sounds more audible than the radio used in noisy environments, reducing the dynamic range of the audio signal.

  1. In DAB mode, press and hold the Menu button to enter the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “DRC value”.
  3. Press the button to enter DRC adjustment mode Select.
  4. Rotate the tuning control to highlight the required DRC setting (default is Off). Off – DRC is off, DRC broadcast is ignored. Low – The DRC level is set to 1 / 2 which the sender has sent. High – DRC is set sent by the broadcaster.
  5. Press the Select button to confirm the setting.

NOTE:
Not all DAB broadcasts use the DRC function. If the broadcast does not provide DRC information, the DRC setting on the radio is not affected by any effect.

Shearing stations – DAB
If you are moving to another part of the country, some may not be listed stations will no longer be available. Some DAB services may also from time to time broadcast to stop or location or change the frequency. Stations that cannot be found or that do not exist for a long time will be shown in the station list with a question mark. The station trimming function deletes marked DAB stations from your station list.

  1. In DAB mode, press and hold the Menu button to enter the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “Red Station”.
  3. Press the Select button to enter adjustment mode.
  4. Turn to activate the pruning function tuning control to select “Yes”. The setting press Select to confirm. If you don’t want to to trim stations, select “No” or “Back” to return to the previous one to the menu screen. Press the Select button to confirm your selection.

NOTE:
If you have moved your radio, you should also search for new stations (see “Searching for new stations”).

Radio Operation – FM

  1. Insert the (supplied) external antenna connector into the external to antenna socket on the back of the radio.

  2. Press the power button to turn on the radio.

  3. Press the Source button to select the FM band.

  4. Press and hold to enter the FM menu with the Menu button.

  5. Turn the tuning control to select “SCAN”.
    Press the Select button to make the radio search from low frequency to high frequency. If it finds enough strength station, the frequency will flash on the screen for 6 seconds and the radio will resume scanning after 6 seconds. To the station press to tune or stop searching the Select button.

  6. The screen shows the frequency of the found signal. If the signal is strong enough and RDS data is present, displays the radio station name.

  7. When the end of the waveband is reached, your radio will start tuning from the other end of the waveband.

  8. Turn the volume control knob to adjust the volume as needed.

  9. Press the power button to turn off the radio.

Manual tuning – FM
In FM mode, turn the tuning knob to tune to a station control button.

Scan Sensitivity Setting – FM
Your radio includes an auto-scan feature local/remote option. When you set up the radio to the ‘local’ scan option, the radio can ignore weaker signals from distant transmitters, which makes it easier to find stronger signals.

  1. While in FM mode, press and hold the Menu button to open the FM menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “FM Scan Zone”. Press the Select button to enter the scan sensitivity adjustment mode. The current setting is marked with an asterisk.
  3. Turn the tuning control to select “Local” (strong stations only) or “Distant” (all stations). The “Distant” option allows the radio to find when scanning weaker signals.
  4. Press the Select button to confirm the selection. Device will be recorded on the radio and will remain in effect until changed or until the system is reset.

Station presets in DAB and FM mode
DAB and FM radio each have 10 presets. They are used in the same way for each operating mode.

  1. Press the power button to turn on the radio.
  2. Tune in the desired radio station as before described.
  3. Press to enter the preset station menu and hold the preset button.
  4. Turn the tuning control to scroll in the list of presets until you reach an unused one to the preset or preset you want to change.
  5. Press the Select button to save the preset. For example, the display will show “Preset 2 saves”.
  6. If necessary, repeat this procedure for the rest for the presets. Already saved in preset stations can be transferred by following the above procedure.

NOTE:
Radio station presets remain radio into memory on shutdown.

Preset recall in DAB and FM modes

  1. Press the power button to turn on the radio.
  2. Select the desired operating mode using the Source button.
  3. Press the preset button to enter the menu Recall Station.
  4. Turn the tuning control to the desired setting to select a preset station. Press the Select button. Your radio will then tune to the selected preset to a station stored in memory. The selected preset number is also displayed on the screen, e.g. “P2”.

Display options – DAB / FM / Bluetooth

  • Your radio has several in DAB, FM and Bluetooth mode display options.
  • Press the info button to move between the different options.

DAB display options

  • Your radio may display the following in DAB mode: scrolling text, program type, multiple names, time/date, frequency, bit rate and audio type, encoding information, DL Plus text, and signal strength.
  • For DL ​​Plus text, some stations may display in addition to plain text as well as other program-related information. If none are available, “no information” will be displayed.

FM display options

  • Using F M mode radio data system (RDS) to display the radio station name and additional text if and when offered by the broadcaster the radio signal is clear enough.
  • Your radio can display the following in FM mode: radio text, program type, time/date, and frequency.

Bluetooth display options

  • If your connected device is able to display the information about a song, your radio may display it in Bluetooth mode the following.
  • Device Name, Title, Artist, Album.
  • Please note that the availability of information depends on the specific media format.

Listening to music via Bluetooth streaming through
You need to pair your Bluetooth device with the CP-100D before you can create an automatic link through the CP-100D Play/stream Bluetooth music. Binding creates connection so that the two devices recognize each other. Pairing and playing a Bluetooth device for the first time

  1. When the radio is on, press the Source button to select the Bluetooth function. The message “Bluetooth Pairing” will appear on the screen. The LED indicator around the power button will flash blue rapidly to indicate that the radio is discoverable. (When charging in Bluetooth mode, the LED indicator around the power button will change between red and purple.)
  2. To link with the radio, activate Bluetooth on your device according to the device’s user manual. Find the list of Bluetooth devices and select the device named “CP-100D” (for some smartphones equipped with versions earlier than BT2.1 Bluetooth device, you may need to enter the passcode “0000”).
  3. After connecting, a confirmation tone will sound and the name of the connected Bluetooth device will be displayed on the screen. The LED indicator around the power button will turn blue. (When charging in Bluetooth mode, the LED indicator around the power button will turn solid purple.) You can easily select and play any music from your source device.
  4. The volume control can be adjusted from your source device or directly from the radio. Use the controls on your Bluetooth-enabled device or radio to play/pause songs and navigate.

NOTE:

  • When 2 Bluetooth devices pair for the first time, both will search for your radio and it will show its availability on both devices. However, if one device pairs with that device first, the other Bluetooth device will not find it in the list.
  • If you move your source device out of range, it will temporarily disconnect from the radio. Your radio will automatically reconnect when the source device is brought back into range. Note that no other Bluetooth devices can pair or connect to your radio while disconnected.
  • If “CP-100D” appears in your Bluetooth device list, but your device cannot connect to it, please delete the item from the list and pair the device with the radio again by following the steps previously described.
  • The effective operating range between the system and the associated device is approximately 10 meters (30 feet). Any obstacles between the system and the device can reduce the operating range.
  • Bluetooth connectivity performance may vary depending on connected Bluetooth devices. Before connecting to the radio, familiarize yourself with the Bluetooth capabilities of your device. Some paired Bluetooth devices may not support all functions.
  • For some mobile phones, calls, sending/receiving text messages, emails, or any other non-audio streaming activity can mute Bluetooth audio streaming or even temporarily disconnect from your device. This behavior is a function of the connected device and does not indicate a malfunction of your CP-100D.

Playing audio files in Bluetooth mode
Once you have successfully paired the radio with the selected Bluetooth source device, you can start playing music using the controls on the connected Bluetooth device.

  1. Once playback has started, adjust the volume to the desired setting using the volume button on the radio or enabled Bluetooth source device.
  2. Use the Bluetooth source device controls to play/pause and navigate tracks. Alternatively, you can control playback using the radio’s tuning knob. Turn the tuning control clockwise to play the next track. Turn the tuning control counterclockwise to play the previous track. Press the Select button to pause/play the track.

NOTE: Not all player applications or devices may respond to all of these controls.

Reconnecting the previous l y-pa I red Bluetooth source device

  • The CP-100D can store up to 8 sets of paired Bluetooth source devices in memory, if the memory exceeds this capacity, the device will overwrite the earliest pairing device.
  • If your Bluetooth source device is already paired with the CP-100D, the device will leave your Bluetooth source device in memory and try to connect again with the last connected Bluetooth source device in memory. If the last connected Bluetooth source device is not available, the CP-100D will try to connect to another last Bluetooth source device.

Disconnecting a Bluetooth device

  1. Press and hold the Menu button to enter the Bluetooth menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “Cancel Pairing”. Then press the Select button.
  3. To disconnect from the Bluetooth device, turn the tuning control to select “Yes” and then press the Select button. You will hear a confirmation tone and the LED indicator around the power button will flash blue rapidly, indicating that the radio is available for pairing again. Selecting “No” or “Back” will return to the previous menu screen. Press the Select button to confirm your selection.
  4. Alternatively, you can press the Source button to select any mode other than Bluetooth, or turn off Bluetooth on your Bluetooth device to disable the connection.

Erasing Bluetooth-paired de i ce memory

  1. Press and hold the Menu button to enter the Bluetooth menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “Clear Pairing”. Then press the Select button.
  3. Turn to clear the memory of all connected devices tuning control to select “Yes”. Then press the Select button. Selecting “No” or “Back” will return to the previous menu screen. Press to confirm the selection the Select button.

Contrast

  • The screen contrast can be adjusted.
  • When the radio is on, press the required contrast Light button to adjust. The contrast level display on the screen changes at the same time.
**Sleep timer

**

Your radio can be set to turn off after a preset amount of time. The sleep timer setting can be adjusted in steps from 15 to 120 minutes.

  1. When the radio is on, long press the sleep button to enter the sleep setting menu.

  2. Turn the tuning control to select the required sleep time. The sleep timer can be set between 15 and 120 minutes or select “Sleep off” to cancel the sleep timer. Press the Select button to confirm the setting.

  3. Alternatively, press and hold the menu button to open the current mode menu.

  4. Turn the setup control to select “System Setup”. Press the Select button.

  5. Turn the tuning control to select “Sleep”. Press the Select button.

  6. Turn the tuning control to select the desired sleep time. Or select “Sleep off” to cancel the sleep timer. Press the Select button to confirm the setting.

  7. The active sleep timer is indicated by the sleep timer icon on the playback screens. To view the remaining time of an active sleep timer, press and hold the sleep button to view the remaining time.
    Alternatively, press and hold the menu button and then turn the tuning control to select “System Setup”. Press the Select button. Turn the tuning control to select “Sleep”. Press the Select button to see the remaining time.

  8. To cancel the sleep time before the preset time and turn off the radio, press the power button to turn off the radio manually.

Automatic clock update

Your radio will automatically update every time you switch on the radio and tune in to a DAB+ radio station or an FM station that broadcasts the time via RDS. The time display will flash 00:00 for a few seconds, then the time will be displayed when a DAB+ or FM-RDS clock signal is received. You can set the radio to set its clock based on DAB or FM radio broadcasts.

  1. When the radio is on, press and hold the menu button to enter the current mode menu.
  2. Turn the setup control to select “System Setup”. Press the Select button to enter the system settings menu.
  3. Turn the tuning control to select “Time Setting”. press the Select button.
  4. Turn the tuning control to select “Time Update”. Press the Select button to enter the setting.
  5. Rotate the tuning control to select the update option “DAB”, “FM” or “Any” as required. Press the Select button to confirm your selection.

Time display

  1. When the radio is on, press and hold the menu button to enter the current mode menu.
  2. Turn the setup control to select “System Setup”. Press the Select button.
  3. Turn the tuning control to select “Time Setting”. Press the Select button.
  4. Turn the tuning control to select “Time Display”. Press the Select button.
  5. Turn the tuning control to select “Enable” or “Disable”. Select “Enable” to display the time. Select “Disable” and the time display will disappear. Press the Select button to confirm your selection.

Language selection
By default, your radio displays all menus and messages in English. You can select your preferred language.

  1. When the radio is on, press and hold the menu button to enter the current mode menu.
  2. Turn the setup control to select “System Setup”. Press the Select button to enter the system settings menu.
  3. Turn the tuning control to select “Language”. Press the Select button to enter the settings menu.
  4. Turn the tuning control to select the desired language. Press the Select button to confirm the setting. The screen switches to the selected language.
Restoring factory settings

If you want to completely reset your radio, here’s how to do it. A factory reset will erase all user-entered settings.

  1. When the radio is on, press and hold the menu button to enter the current mode menu.
  2. Turn the setup control to select “System Setup”. Press the Select button to enter the system settings menu.
  3. Turn the setup control to select “Factory Reset”. Press the Select button to enter the setting.
  4. Turn the tuning control to select “Yes” or “No”. If you do not want to reset the system, select “No” and then press the Select button to confirm the setting. Or selecting “Back” returns to the previous menu screen. Press the Select button to confirm your selection.
  5. If “Yes” is selected, press to reset the radio the Select button. This will delete all saved settings and preset memory stations. All settings will be reset to factory default settings.

Software version display
The software version display is for reference and for customer support purposes and cannot be changed.

  1. When the radio is on, press and hold menu button to open the current mode menu.
  2. Turn the tuning control to select “System Setup”. To enter the system settings menu press the Select button.
  3. Turn the tuning control to select “SW version”. Press to display the software version the Select button.

Auxiliary input jack
On the back of the radio there is a 3.5mm stereo auxiliary input jack, which allows you to send an external audio signal to the device from an audio device such as an iPod, MP3 or CD player.

  1. With the radio on, press the Source button, until “Aux In” is displayed.
  2. Connect an external audio source (e.g. iPod, MP3 or CD-Enne player) with auxiliary input jack.
  3. Adjust your iPod, MP3 or CD player volume to ensure that the device has a sufficient signal level. Then adjust the radio for comfortable listening volume as needed.
