SET UP

  • Lower, remove and store any water craft if the lift is in use
  • Lower the lift all the way down until the carraige is resting on the bottom stop
  • Rotate the wheel another turn to put additional slack in the cable

WINCH REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT

  • Unpin lower sheave; remove and place sheave and cable end on dock.
  • Remove the cover and the hand crank wheel.
  • Remove the upper sheave plate from the tower.
  • Unbolt winch bracket, place on dock, this hardware will be reused; The old cable should be free at this point.
  • Bolt the pre-wired power head assembly to the tower (reusing the bolts from the pervious step).
  • Attach the leads to the battery using the hardware from the battery box; red (positive) first, then black (negative).

Unspooling Cable

  • Temporarily connect plug coming of the remote on the side of the cover & the plug at the end of the loom layed over the top of the powerhead.Basta-Boatlifts-L352-0060C-Electric-1400-LB-Capacity-Lift-Upgrade-Kit-FIG-8
  • Use the down button on the remote to unspool enough cable to route down, around the lower sheave (currently removed) and back up to the anchor point shown.

CABLE ROUTING + PLATE/BLOCK MOUNTING

  • Route the new cable around sheave as shown; insert, then pin the sheave and lower lower limit switch plate into the carraige as shown; remember to secure the clevis pin with the cotter pin.Basta-Boatlifts-L352-0060C-Electric-1400-LB-Capacity-Lift-Upgrade-Kit-FIG-10
  • Use the 3/8” x 2.75” bolts from the upgrade kit to mount the upper limit switch plate to the top of the tower; the “left” side bolt should pass through the cable thimble and tensioner block inside the tower as shown.

WIRING IN LIMIT SWITCH

  • Route limit switch cord as shown; the coils should rest behind the winch motor.
  • From the limit switch cord, connect: red wire short red wire comming off of the blue connector; black wire the one open pin on the 4-pin relay.

REMOTE/SOLAR PANEL WIRING + COVER INSTALLATION

  • Connect remote & solar panel as shown;
  • Place cover over powerhead as shown;
  • Fasten the cover to the powerhead using the four 1/4” screws found in the kit.

CAPACITY AND WARNINGS

MAXIMUM CAPACITY

  • 1,400 LBS (635 kgs)

  • Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity specified for the lift structure or 12V Electric Drive Upgrade Kit.
  • Abide by whichever capacity is lower.
  • Maximum weight capacity of lift model can be located on the capacity sticker of the lift tower.
  • Maximum capacity of 12V Electric Drive Upgrade Kit is above and on the hoist cover.
  • Improper use or failure to follow this instruction can cause property damage, serious injury, or death.
  • Never use for lifting humans or animals.

  • Always avoid being under, and maintain adequate clearance from, the lift.
  • Failure to follow this instruction can cause serious injury or death.
  • Keep fingers and other foreign objects clear of the hoist and cable while it is being operated. Serious injury may result.
  • Always use AGM batteries and follow battery manufacturer’s warnings and instructions. Improper use, or use of other batteries, have the potential to produce flammable hydrogen gas which can result in serious injury or death.

WARNING

  • Visually inspect all parts and assemblies for damage or defects prior to assembling lift.
  • Do not play on or near the lift.
  • Do not service the unit with the watercraft on the lift.

CAUTION

  • The lift should only be used for lifting boats & watercraft.
  • Passengers should stand clear of the lift when the lift is in operation.

FIRST USE AND ADJUSTMENTS

  • Place the watercraft over the lift to the following specifications:
    • A. The craft should be centered between the bunks side-to side.
    • B. Move the craft forward to position its center of buoyancy near the bunks’ center.
    • C. Disembark and raise the PWC.
  • Turn on the power using the power switch on the side of the cover.
  • Raise and lower the lift using the up and down buttons on the side of the cover or the remote-control fob.
  • The bottom of the lift carriage should be stored at least one foot above high water for storage.
  • Ensure the lift does not raise above the limit switch.
  • Turn off for storage using the power switch on the side of the cover.
  • If the loaded carriage assembly does not lower smoothly, the watercraft may not be properly centered on the lift.
  • Carefully lower the lift and make sure the watercraft’s weight is centered before lifting it.
  • Do not attempt to adjust the position of the watercraft while it is raised on the lift.
  • All fasteners should be checked and tightened regularly to prevent damage to your craft or to the lift.
  • The lift and cable should be inspected for excessive wear or corrosion before use.
  • The connection between the lift and dock is critical and must be carefully monitored.

REMOTE TRANSMITTER FOB REPROGRAMMING

For replacement fobs

  1. Make sure the lift power switch is OFF and the transmitter fob has no LEDs illuminated.
  2. Press and hold the UP and PRG buttons on the transmitter fob for 5 seconds until both LEDs start blinking, then release the buttons.
  3. Immediately turn the lift power switch ON.
  4. In about 5 seconds, the green LED on the transmitter fob should blink rapidly, indicating success.
    The new transmitter fob should now operate.
