Fix microphone problems

KH53 Wireless Headset

If you notice the microphone has issue when use with computer, please only connect the headset with cell phone, then make a call to check whether the other end can hear your voice.
If the mic can’t work even using on cell phone, that means the headset is defective. You can contact our support email to get a replacement or full refund.
If the mic can wok on cell phone, that means the headset has no issue, the issue should be from the USB dongle or computer setting or something else.

A. If the issue is from the USB dongle, you can try below to confirm the issue
A. If the issue is from the USB dongle, you can try below to confirm the issue If your computer support Bluetooth connection, please unplug the usb dongle and connect via Bluetooth directly, then check whether the mic work or not.
If your computer has no Bluetooth function, you can connect the headset with cell phone, then make a call to check whether the mic work or not.
If the headset connect via Bluetooth and the microphone work, that means the issue is from the USB dongle, you can contact our support email to get a new USB dongle.

B. If the issue is from computer setting, please try below troubleshoot to check whether set

1.Make sure the KH53 headset and dongle are paired successfully
If pairing is not successful, please try the steps below:

1. Reset the headset (Turn on the headset, then hold and press the MFB button and volume-button at the same time for over 5s, it will reset).
2. Unplug the dongle and plug it into another USB port.

2.After the KH53 headset and dongle are paired successfully, please follow the steps below:

1. Right-click the Speakers icon at the bottom right, then click “Open Sound settings”
2. Make sure that [KH53 dongle] has been selected as both the output and input device.
   Then close Settings. Besides, you can try below troubleshoot to check whether can fix the microphone issue.

3.If there is still no sound, the microphone of the headset may be disabled or [KH53 dongle] is not set as the default device on your computer.

1. Right-click the Speakers icon at the bottom right, then click “Sound”
2. Click “Recording” and “Playback”, then set [KH53 dongle] as default device and make sure it is enabled.
3. If you want to listen your voice through the microphone while making a call, you can click the “properties” at the right bottom
4. Click “Listen” and check mark “Listen to this device”, you will listen your own voice through the microphone

4.Make sure apps have access to the microphone
If your microphone isn’t detected, you may need to give your apps permission to use it.
(Take windows 10 as example)

1. To let apps access the microphone, select Start, then select Settings> Privacy> Microphone.
   Select Change, then turn on Allow apps to access your microphone.

2. After allowing access to the microphone, you can choose which Microsoft Store apps can access these features under Choose which Microsoft Store apps can access your microphone, access these features under Choose which Microsoft Store apps can access your microphone, and give access to non-Microsoft-Store desktop apps by ensuring that the switch beneath Allow desktop apps to access your microphone is set to On.

5. Make sue the[KH53 Dongle] is set as default microphone and speaker device.
(Take Skype as example)

1. Open Skype and choose settings.
2. In Audio & Video, set [KH53 dongle] as Microphone and Speakers.
