Check the package
Please check the package carefully to make sure it is in perfect conditions after long distance shipment, in case of ceramic glass getting damaged or accessories getting missing. Using the touch controls

  • The controls respond to touch, so you don’t need to apply any pressure.
  • Use the ball of your finger, not its tip.
  • You will hear a beep each time a touch is registered.
  • Make sure the controls are always clean, dry, and that there is no object (e.g. a utensil or a cloth) covering them. Even a thin film of water may make the controls difficult to operate.

This manual and the appliance itself provide important safety messages, to be read and always observed.
This is the warning/ caution-safety symbol, regarding safety, warning of Ci potential risks to users and others.
All messages relevant to safety specify the potential risk to which they refer and indicate how to reduce the risk of injury, damage and electric shocks due to incorrect use of the appliance. Make sure to comply with the following:

  • The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply before carrying out any installation operation.

  • Installation and maintenance must be carried out by a specialized technician, in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions and the local safety regulations in force. Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance unless  specifically stated in the user manual.

  • The appliance must be earthed.

  • The power cable must be long enough for connecting the appliance, fitted in the cabinet, to the power supply.

  • For installation to comply with the current safety regulations, an omni polar switch with minimum contact gap of 3mm is required.

  • Do not use multi-sockets or extension cords.

  • Do not pull the appliance’s power cable.

  • The electrical parts must not be accessible to the user after installation.

  • The appliance is designed solely for domestic use for cooking food. No other use is permitted (e.g. heating rooms). The Manufacturer declines any liability for inappropriate use or incorrect setting of the controls.

  • WARNING: The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements and the areas around them.
    Children less than 8 years old shall be kept away unless continuously supervised.

  • The accessible parts can become very hot during use. Children must be kept away from the appliance and watched over to ensure they do not play with it.

  • Do not touch the appliance heating elements during and after use. Do not allow the appliance to come into contact with cloths or other flammable materials until all the components have cooled sufficiently.

  • Do not place flammable materials on or near the appliance.

  • Overheated oils and fats catch fire easily. Pay attention when cooking food products rich in fat and oil.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand hazards involved.
    Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • An air switch or circuit breaker (not supplied) should be installed in the compartment under the appliance.

  • If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of electric shock.

  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.

  • WARNING: Unattended cooking on a cooktop with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover flame e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.

  • WARNING: Danger of fire: do not store items on the cooking surfaces.

  • Do not use steam cleaners.

  • Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the cooktop surface since they can get hot.

  • After use, switch off the cooktop element by its control.

  • CAUTION! Surface remains hot after use! Do not touch the top plate right after removing the pot or the pan, as the top plate will still be very hot!

  • This appliance complies with electromagnetic safety standards.

  • However, persons with cardiac pacemakers or other electrical implants (such as insulin pumps) must consult with their doctor or implant manufacturer before using this appliance to make sure that their implants will not be affected by the electromagnetic field.

  • Failure to follow this advice may result in death.
    People with a heart pacemaker should consult with their doctor before using this cooktop.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

After unpacking the product, check if any damage during transport. In case of any problem, contact the dealer or the after-sale service.

Before Installing the cooktop

  1. Visually inspect the cooktop for damage. Also make sure all cooktop screws are on tight.
  2. Record the model and serial number as found on the bottom of your cooktop. When ordering parts for or making inquires about your cooktop, always be sure to include the model and serial numbers and a lot number or letter from the serial plate on your cooktop.‎CR302 12inch ECOTOUCH 2 Burner Radiant Electric Cooktop - Install
  3. Cutout dimensions of the countertop.
  4. Make sure the wall coverings, countertop and cabinets around the cooktop can withstand heat (up to 300°F) generated by the cooktop.
  5. Gently lower the cooktop into the countertop cutout. NOTE: Do not seal the cooktop to the countertop, the cooktop must be removable if service is necessary.
    For cut-out dimensions, check instructions in below drawings.

Before dropping in, screw the 2 brackets to both sides of bottom case of cooktop (see below picture). ‎CR302 12inch ECOTOUCH 2 Burner Radiant

  • The distance between the underside of the appliance and the separator panel must respect the dimensions given in the figure (mini. 50mm).

  • In order to ensure the correct operation of the product, do not obstruct the minimum required clearance (min. 20 mm) on the worktop for air flow out.

  • If an undertop oven is installed, make sure the oven is equipped with a cooling system. It is very important to keep 2 3/4″ (70 mm) distance between the cooktop and the oven.

  • Do not install the cooktop above a dishwasher or washing-machine, so that the electronic circuits do not come into contact with steam or moisture which could damage them.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
  • Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel who have professional knowledge of current safety and installation regulations.
  • The manufacturer declines all liability for injury to persons or animals and for damage to property resulting from failure to observe the regulations provided in this chapter.
  • The power cable must be long enough to allow the cooktop to be removed from the worktop.
  • Make sure the voltage specified on the rating label located on the bottom of the appliance is the same as that of the home.
    Model CRAH320A needs 15 Amp service.
    Model CRAH630A needs 25 Amp service.
    Model CRAH774A needs 30 Amp service.

Model CRAH630A- 6.0 kW at 240 VAC, 4.5 kW at 208 VAC.

Installation Instructions
The electric cooktops must connect to a separate, grounded wire, single phase, AC, Only electrical supply with their own circuit breaker. These appliances must be installed in accordance with National Electrical Codes, as well as all state,  municipal and local codes. This appliance must be supplied with the proper voltage and frequency and amperage, which is protected by a properly sized circuit breaker or time delay fuse.

The cable from appliance is equipped with 3-wires.

Using the cooktop

To start cooking

  1. Touch the main power ON/OFF button.
    After power on, the buzzer beeps once,all displays show’ – ‘ or’–‘, indicating that the cooktop is in standby mode.
    Within 1 minute if no cooking zone is selected after cooktop switching on, the cooktop will automatically switch off.

  2. Place a suitable pan on the cooking zone that you want to use.
    • Make sure the bottom of the pan and the surface of the cooking zone are clean and dry.

  3. Set the power level by rotating the knob to desired level.

To finish cooking

  1. Rotate the knob back to power level 0.
    Power level display will flash “0” for seconds and then “H”.

  2. Turn off the cooktop by touching the main power ON/OFF button.

Hot surface indicator
If the cooking zone becomes hot during cooking, the setting indicator will show a Hot Surface warning (H) when the zone is turned off. This warning will show until the cooking zone cools.
Dual zone / triple zone function
For CRAH630A and CRAH774A, rotate the knob of a triple zone to get the display flashing, and then touch the Dual/triple zone button once or twice to start cooking with dual zone or triple zone.
To get back to single zone cooking mode, rotate the knob to get the display flashing, and then touch the Dual/triple zone button once or twice.

To lock and unlock the cooktop
The lock function deactivates most of the buttons and knobs on the cooktop to keep cooking zones from being changed by accident or to prevent children from activating the cooktop.
When the cooktop is locked, all the knobs and buttons except for the main power ON/OFF button are disabled.

To lock the cooktop, touch the Lock button .
The time display will show ‘Lo’.

To unlock the cooktop, make sure the cooktop is switched on. Touch and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds.

When the cooktop is in locked, all the buttons except the main power ON/OFF button are disabled. You can always turn the cooktop off with the main power ON/OFF button even when it’s locked. Anyway the cooktop will need to be unlocked before it start work again.

To set Timer
The cooktop has a timer function to remind you when food has been cooking for a specified amount of time.
To set timer

  1. Rotate the knob of the objective cooking zone, the zone is activated and its power level display is flashing.
  2. Touch Timer button and then 8 buttons to set the number of minutes. You can hold the 8 buttons to increase or decrease the number of minutes faster.

Once timer is set
Cooking time will start counting down. When the time has reached ’00’, a ‘beep’ will sound and the objective zone will switch off automatically.
When timer is counting down, you can adjust the remaining time by repeating step 1 and step 2.

To cancel timer, adjust timer of the objective cooking zone to ’00’ by step 1 and step 2.
If more than one cooking zone have been set timer
All the zones with timer settled will show a dot beside the power level display. And the dot of cooking zone with shortest timer will be flashing.

The timer minute display will normally show the shortest timer minute.
To check remaining time of one objective zone, rotate its the knob and the zone is activated. The timer minute display will show its remaining time for five seconds.

Pause function

Touch Pause button to activated pause function, all working zones will switch to power level

  1. And all buttons except for Pause , Lock . and the Main power on/off CI) buttons will be disabled. Power level displays will show ‘ ‘.

To cancel pause function, touch Pause button and all working zones will go back to previous cooking setting.
After pause function is set, if no further operation within 2 hours the cooktop will switch off automatically.

Over-temperature protection
A temperature sensor equipped can monitor the temperature inside the cooktop. When an excessive temperature is monitored, the cooking zone or the cooktop will stop operation automatically.
Auto shutdown protection
Auto shut down is a safety protection function for your electric cooktop. It shut down automatically if you forget to turn off your cooking. The default working time for each power level is shown in the below table.

Note: The data in the table is for guidance only. The relation between the heat setting and the cooking zone consumption of power is not linear. When you increase the heat setting it is not proportional to the increase of the cooking zone  consumption of power.
The power of the cooking zones can be different in some small range. It changes with the material and dimensions of the cookware.

Cooking Tips

  • When food comes to boil, decrease the power level.
  • Using a lid will shorten cooking time and save energy.
  • Minimize the amount of liquid or fat to shorten cooking time.
  • Decrease power level when the food has been heated through.

Energy saving
To save energy during cooking, it is advised to:

  • Use pots and pans with bottom dimension similar to that of the cooking zone.
  • Only use flat-bottomed pots and pans.
  • Try to keep pot lids on during cooking.
  • Place the pot in the middle of the cooking zone.

CLEANING TIPS

  • Do not use steam cleaners.

  • Before cleaning, make sure the cooking zones are switched off and that the residual heat indicator (‘H’) is not displayed.
    IMPORTANT: Do not use abrasive sponges or scouring pads. They could eventually ruin the glass.

  • After cooking, clean the cooktop when it’s cool to remove any deposits and stains due to food residuals.

  • Sugar or foods with a high sugar content damage the cooktop and must be immediately removed.

  • Salt, sugar and sand could easily scratch the glass surface. Becareful.

  • Use a soft cloth, absorbent kitchen paper or a specific cooktop cleaner.

FAQs AND TROUBLESHOOTING

Read and follow the instructions given in the section ‘Instructions for use’.

  • Check that the electricity supply has not been shut off.
  • Dry the cooktop thoroughly after cleaning it.
  • If, when the cooktop is switched on, alphanumeric codes appear on the display, consult the following table for instructions.
  • If the cooktop cannot be switched off after using it, disconnect it from the power supply.
Problem Possible causes What to do
The cooktop cannot be turned on. No power. Make sure the cooktop is

connected to the power supply and it is switched on. Check whether there is a power outage in your home or area. If all checked but problem still there, call a qualified technician.
The control panel doesn’t work.| The cooktop is locked.| Unlock the cooktop.
The touch buttons are not sensitive enough.| There may be a slight film of water covering the control panel. Or you may be using the tip of your finger to touch the buttons.| Make sure the touch control area is dry and use the ball of your finger to touh buttons.
The glass was scratched.| Rough-edged cookware.
Unsuitable, abrasive scourer or cleaning products being used.| Use cookware with flat and smooth bottom. Use correct cleaning products.
Some clicking noises.| May be caused by the working switch components.| This is normal.

Error codes and solutions
Follow below instructions if an error code flashes in the power level display.

Error code Possible cause Solution
El / E2 / E3 Temperature sensor failure Switch off the cooktop and start it

again.
E4| Cooking zone temperature gets too high| Switch off the cooktop and let it cool down. Start it again.
E5| Electronic component failure| Switch off the cooktop and start it again. It’s ok if no more error code. If E5 keeps coming, contact the after sale service for amendment.

Before contacting the After-sales Service:

  1. See if you can solve the problem yourself with the help of the Troubleshooting guide”.
  2. Switch the appliance off and then on again it to see if the problem has been eliminated.

    If any repairs are required, contact an authorized After-Sales Service Centre (to ensure the use of original spare parts and correct repairs). Spare parts are available.
