Instruction for Installation and Use

Kindly Note:
Prior to installation and use, we would like to remind you of reading through the instruction manual and get full understand of the unit. Please keep the manual in safe place for future reference. A Word on Induction Cooking

Induction cooking is a safe, advanced, efficient, and economical cooking technology. It works by electromagnetic vibrations generating heat directly in the pan, rather than indirectly through heating the glass surface. The glass becomes hot only because the pan eventually warms it up.

BEFORE USE

IMPORTANT: The cooking zones will not switch on if pots are not in right size or material. Only use pots with the symbol INDUCTION SYSTEM’ (Figure below). Place the pot on the required cooking zone before switching the cooktop on.

Check your pots and pans
Use a magnet to check if the pot is suitable for the induction cooktop: pots and pans are unsuitable if not magnetically detectable move a magnet towards the base of the pan, if it is attracted, the pan is suitable for induction.

  • Make sure pots have smooth bottom, otherwise they could scratch the cooktop. Check dishes.
  • Never place hot pots or pans on the surface of the cooktop’s control panel. This could result in damage.

To avoid permanently damaging the cooktop, DO NOT use:

  •  Pots with bottoms that are not perfectly flat.
Check for flatness by rotating a ruler across the bottom of the cookware.Cookware should have flat bottoms that make good contact with the entire surface of the cooking zone.

  •  Castiron pans with rough bottom.

Pan dimension

  • The cooking zones are up to a limit, automatically adapted to the diameter of the pan. However the bottom of this pan must have a minimum of diameter according to the corresponding cooking zone. To obtain the best efficiency of your cooktop, please place the pan in the centre of the cooking zone.
The minimum bottom diameter of induction cookware is
Cooking zone dimension 65/16″ 77/8″ 11″
Minimum cookware diameter 315/16″ 43/4″ 71/16″

Using the Touch Controls

  • The controls respond to touch, so you don’t need to apply any pressure.
  •  Use the ball of your finger, not its tip.
  • You will hear a beep each time a touch is registered.
  • Make sure the controls are always clean, dry, and that there is no object (e.g. a utensil or a cloth) covering them. Even a thin film of water may make the controls difficult to operate.

Power management
For an induction cooktop, power of 2 cooking zones may be from one generator. So as called a ‘group’. If two cooking zones from the same group are set on high power at the same time and totally reach 3,600w, the power may need to be shared between the two zones. The power level display of two zones will flash and then go back to the highest levels which allow total power below 3,600w.

Tips: To keep high power performance of your cooktop, it is recommended to use boost heating
from different groups.
Over-temperature protection
A temperature sensor equipped can monitor the temperature inside the Induction cooktop. When an excessive temperature is monitored, the Induction cooktop will stop operation automatically.
Detection of small article s
When an unsuitable size or non-magnetic pan (e.g. aluminium), or some other small item (e.g. knife, fork, key) has been left on the cooktop, the cooktop automatically go on to standby in 1 minute. The fan will keep cooking down the induction cooktop for a further 1 minute.
Auto shutdown protection
Auto shut down is a safety protection function for your induction cooktop. It shut down automatically if you forget to turn off your cooking. The default working time for each power level is shown in the below table.

Power level 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Default working timer (hour) 8 8 8 4 4 4 2 2 2

When the pot is removed, the induction cooktop can stop heating immediately and the cooktop automatically switch off after 2 minutes.

TEMPERATURE LEVEL TABLE

Temperature level Type of cooking Tips (only as suggestions)
Max level 9P Frying – boiling

deep frozen products, fast boiling

Note: The data in the table is for guidance only. The relation between the heat setting and the cooking zone consumption of power is not linear. When you increase the heat setting it is not proportional to the increase of the cooking zone consumption of power. The power of the cooking zones can be different in some small range. It changes with the material and dimensions of the cookware.

Cooking Tips

  •  When food comes to boil, decrease the power level.
  • Using a lid will shorten cooking time and save energy.
  • Minimize the amount of liquid or fat to shorten cooking time.
  • Decrease power level when the food has been heated through.

Energy saving
To save energy during cooking, it is advised to:

  • Use pots and pans with bottom dimension similar to that of the cooking zone.
  •  Only use flat-bottomed pots and pans.
  •  Try to keep pot lids on during cooking.
  •  Place the pot in the middle of the cooking zone.

CLEANING TIPS

  •  Do not use steam cleaners.
  • Before cleaning, make sure the cooking zones are switched off and that the residual heat indicator (‘H’) is not displayed.

IMPORTANT: Do not use abrasive sponges or scouring pads. They could eventually ruin the glass.

  • After cooking, clean the cooktop when it’s cool to remove any deposits and stains due to food residuals.
  • Sugar or foods with a high sugar content damage the cooktop and must be immediately removed.
  • Salt, sugar and sand could easily scratch the glass surface. Becareful.
  • Use a soft cloth, absorbent kitchen paper or a specific cooktop cleaner.

FAQs AND TROUBLESHOOTING

Read and follow the instructions given in the section ‘Instructions for use’.

  • Check that the electricity supply has not been shut off.
  • Dry the cooktop thoroughly after cleaning it.

disappear.
E6| IGBT break off| Call for service.
E7| Wires inside the cooktop are not connected well.| Call for service.

Noises made by the cooktop
Induction cooktops can make whistling or crackling sounds during normal operation, these actually come from the pots and pans as a result of the characteristics of the bottoms (for example, bottoms made of several layers of material, or uneven bottoms). These noises vary depending on the pots and pans used and the amount of food they contain, and are not indicative of a defect of any kind.
In addition, the induction cooktop is equipped with an internal cooling system to control the temperature of electronic parts; as a result, during operation and for several minutes after the cooktop has been switched off, the noise of the cooling fan will be audible. This is perfectly normal and indeed essential for proper functioning of the appliance.
