WARNING! Ensure Health & Safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using this equipment, make sure you know where the nearest fire extinguisher is.

WARNING! Always wear approved eye / face protection when operating the soldering iron.

WARNING! Do not use the soldering iron if you notice damage to the workpiece.

WARNING! Always point the soldering iron away from the eyes and body when during operation.

WARNING! Do not put the soldering iron down, put it back in its holder.

WARNING! Only use in a well ventilated area.

  • Keep flammable material away from the torch when operating.
  • DO NOT operate the soldering iron when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
  • DO NOT use the soldering iron in an area where paint fumes, solvents or other flammable solids, liquids or gases pose a potential hazard.
  • DO NOT hold any workpiece by hand.
  • DO NOT touch the workpiece close to the heated area as it will be very hot. Allow to cool.
  • DO NOT operate the soldering iron if it is damaged as this may cause failure and/or possible personal injury.
  • DO NOT touch the top of the soldering iron during or immediately after use, as it will be very hot. Allow to cool.
  • DO NOT allow children to operate the soldering iron.
  • When not in use, store away from direct sunlight in a safe, dry, childproof location.
  • DO NOT store at over 40°C, such as in a car in hot weather.

INTRODUCTION

Cordless and lightweight soldering iron. Inbuilt LED to illuminate soldering area in low light areas such as engine bays. Kit includes standard, chisel and heat shrink tips as well as cleaning sponge, solder, stand and USB charging lead. Heats up to a maximum temperature of 600°C and has a 40 minute working time.

OPERATION

CHANGING SOLDERING TIP

Ensure that the soldering iron tip is cold, select the appropriate tip and remove the current tip by applying a quarter turn to the tip collar. Mount the required tip by lining up the lugs, sliding the collar down the tool and applying a quarter turn.

CHARGING

When connected to a USB power supply the LED in the handle will show red while charging and will turn green when fully charged.

USING THE SOLDERING IRON

Slide the Heating and LED control slider (fig.2) forward to prepare the tool for soldering.

Depress the red button on top of the slide control to heat the tip and to turn on the LED. While the red button is depressed the tip will continue to heat. If the button is released the power is effectively switched off.

When the work is done ensure that the Heating and LED control slider is returned to the Off position (fig.2) and that the tip is cold before storing the iron back in it’s box.

MAINTENANCE

If soiled, clean the tool using using a clean, damp cloth. DO NOT get the tool wet.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.

WEEE REGULATIONS
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
