Addictive Desert Designs Rock Fighter Front Bumper

The Addictive Desert Designs Rock Fighter Front Bumper is designed for 2018 and newer Jeep JL models. It provides enhanced protection and a rugged appearance for off-road enthusiasts. This front bumper is made from high- quality materials to ensure
durability and reliability in various off-road conditions.

Preparation

• SKILL LEVEL: Easy/Intermediate. This installation requires 2 people for best results.
• TIME REQUIRED: Approximately 2 hours for OEM removal and bumper installation. An additional hour is required to wire lights.
• INCLUDED IN KIT:
  • 4 Hex Head Bolts (3/8-16 x 1)
  • 4 Flat Washers (3/8)
  • 4 U-Nuts (3/8-16)
  • 2 Button Head Bolts (1/2-13 x 1 1/2)
  • 2 Flat Washers (1/2)
  • 2 Nylon Lock Nuts (1/2-13)
  • 1 Universal Light Mount Kit
• TOOLS REQUIRED:
  • Sockets: 9/16, 3/4, 13mm, 16mm, 18mm
  • Box end wrenches: 9/16, 3/4, 13mm, 16mm, 18mm
  • Allen wrenches: 7/32, 5/16
  • Fastener remover or flathead screwdriver

Product Usage Instructions

Removal

STEP 1

Remove the two plastic clips on the top of the bumper.

STEP 2

If your Jeep has 6 additional clips on the front lip of the plastic bumper cover, remove those clips. Then, pull the plastic cover off the vehicle. Unplug the front bumper harness located along the passenger side frame rail.

STEP 3

Use a 13mm Socket to remove both lower skid plate bolts. Then, using an 18mm Socket, remove the bumper mounting bolts (4 per side). Remove the bumper from the vehicle.

STEP 4

Using a 16mm Socket, remove the bolts referenced in the first picture. Remove the skid mounting plate if present. Optional: Cut the frame stilts just below the sway bar mounts. Ensure to paint over any bare metal after cutting.

Installation

STEP 5

If you have any lights or a winch to install on your bumper, follow the manufacturer’s guide for mounting and wiring information. Use the supplied Light Mount Kit to mount your lights.
Refer to the installation instructions for the light mount kit.

STEP 6

Set the supplied U-Nuts in place on your new bumper. Drill the lower/outer bumper mounting holes to 1/2 inch. Paint over any bare metal after drilling.

Preparation

We recommend reading through the installation instructions in whole before performing the work.

• Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Park the vehicle on level ground and set the emergency brake.
• When button head bolts are being used, install the supplied washer on the nut side. Then, hold the bolt stationary and only turn the nut to tighten. Do not turn the bolt to tighten hardware assembly, unless otherwise noted.
• Anti-seize is recommended for all fasteners.

  Labor Rates are based on a vehicle with no pre-existing damage. Wiring labor is based on a standard wiring procedure with light switches installed in an easily accessible location. Custom light triggering or switch mounting location will result in a greater labor charge.

INSTALLATION guide

STEALTH FIGHTER FRONT BUMPER 18+/JEEP JL

STEP 1
Remove the two plastic clips on the top of the bumper as shown below.

STEP 2
If your Jeep has 6 additional clips on the front lip of the plastic bumper cover, remove those clips now. Once those clips are removed, you may pull the plastic cover off the vehicle. Then unplug the front bumper harness located along the passenger side frame rail as shown below.

STEP 3
Use a (13mm Socket) to remove both lower skid plate bolts. Then using an (18mm Socket), remove the bumper mounting bolts (4 per side). Then, remove the bumper from the vehicle.

STEP 4
Using a (16mm Socket), remove the bolts referenced bellow in the first picture. Then, remove the skid mounting plate. If your Jeep does not have this plate, skip this step. The bottom two pictures are optional Cut the frame stilts just below the sway bar mounts. Follow the line shown bellow. Make sure to paint over any bare metal when you are finished cutting.

STEP 5
If you have any lights or a winch to install on your bumper, now is a good time to do so. Please follow the light/winch manufacturer’s guide for mounting/wiring information.
Use the supplied Light Mount Kit that came with the bumper to mount your lights. Installation instructions for our light mount kit can be found here:

STEP 6
Set the supplied U-Nuts (x4) in place on your new bumper. Then drill the lower/outer bumper mounting holes to 1/2”. Make sure to paint over any bare metal once you are finished.

STEP 7
Install the support brackets as shown below with the x8 provided 3/8” button head bolts, washers, and nylon lock nuts on top and bottom using a (7/32 allen) and a (9/16 wrench).

STEP 8
Set the bumper into place on the vehicle. Install the supplied 3/8” bolts, and washers in the 4 mounting holes located on the inside of the frame horns. Then, install the supplied 1/2” button head bolts, washers, and nylon lock nuts into the outer/lower mounting holes.

STEP 1
Stand back and enjoy your new ADD Rock Fighter™ Front Bumper.
Check and re-tighten, if needed, all mounting bolts after 100 miles and periodically thereafter.
