BIAS TAPE GUIDE + BELT LOOP FOLDER

Ref: 202-464-101

This attachment can be used as a «Bias Tape Guide» to easily attach single fold 1/2″ (12.7 mm) wide bias tape to knit fabric for decoration, and as a «Belt Loop Folder» to make 7/16″ (11 mm wide belt loops from 1″ (25 mm) wide strips of fabric. Medium-heavy fabrics (10 oz denim or chino cloth, etc.) are recommended for creating the belt loop.

BIAS TAPE GUIDE

To sew

Attach the attachment to the 2 holes on the right front of the machine with the attachment screws.

  • Attachment screws (2 pcs.) are included in the standard accessories of your machine.
    Machine Setting

Be sure to set the attachment properly as shown below.

Pass the bias tape through the bias tape guide with the folded side facing down.

Slide the bias tape under the presser foot to the rear of the needle hole.

  • When attaching the tape with top cover stitch, sew while pushing the bias tape or the edge of the fabric immediately following the extra piece of fabric so that there is no gap between the fabrics at the beginning of the seam.

Refer to the instruction manual for sewing the beginning of the seam with top cover stitch.

Slide the fabric under the attachment and the bias tape to the rear of the needle drop position.
Slide Fabric

Be sure that the fabric, bias tape and seam lines (left and right) are set at the proper positions. Lower the presser foot and start sewing.

  • If the seam line seems out of the alignment, adjust the attachment position by loosening the attachment screws. Tighten the attachment screws securely after adjustment. Always sew test stitches before sewing on the actual fabric.

BELT LOOP FOLDER

To sew:

Attach the attachment to the 2 holes on the right front of the machine with the attachment screws.

  • Attachment screws (2 pcs.) are included in the standard accessories of your machine.Instructions

Be sure to set the attachment properly as shown below.
Product Instructions

Cut a strip of fabric tape 1″ (25 mm) in width. Fold back the edge of the fabric tape to form a 1/4″ (6 mm) fold and iron it.

Insert the fabric tape created in step 2. into the belt loop folder with the folded part to the left as shown in the diagram to the right.

Slide the fabric tape to the rear edge of the presser foot.

  • When sewing the fabric tape with top cover stitch, sew while pushing the edge of the fabric tape against the extra piece of fabric so that there is no gap between the fabrics at the beginning of the seam.

Refer to the instruction manual for sewing the beginning of the seam with top cover stitch.

Be sure that the seam lines (left and right) are set at the proper positions for the finished width. Lower the presser foot and start sewing.

  • If the seam line seems out of the alignment, adjust the attachment position by loosening the attachment screws.

Tighten the attachment screws securely after adjustment. Always sew test stitches before sewing on the actual fabric.
