Cassette configuration

Two methods for configuring the coin changer cassette are outlined below.

Symbol The cassette must be empty before configuring or recalibrating.

Configuration method Steps
Cassette code To change the cassette:
  1. Press , followed by CASSETTE.
  2. Enter the required cassette code and press SAVE. Follow the custom cassette steps below if the code is not recognized.
  3. Press START to calibrate the empty cassette when prompted.

Individual tubes or custom cassette| Symbol Tubes are coin-specific. Accepted coin size is printed on the side of the tube.

To change individual tubes or create a custom cassette:

  1. Press , followed by CASSETTE.
  2. Use keys A-F to select the tube position.
  3. Select the denomination for the tube.
  4. Press SAVE to store the setting.
  5. Press when all tubes are programmed.
  6. Press START to calibrate when prompted.

Installation

To install the coin changer:

  1. Remove the coin changer from packaging. If it was damaged during shipping, go to CranePI.com/Support to locate a customer service contact near you.
    Symbol Review the operating voltage on the label that is displayed on the left side of the device (when looking at the front of the coin changer).

  2. Turn off power to the vending machine.

  3. Lift the yellow latch on the top right of the coin changer and tilt the validator assembly forward to access the coin changer mounting holes. The cassette does not need to be removed.

  4. Hang the coin changer on the vending machine’s mounting screws, ensuring the unit is level. See Alignment

  5. The lower mount (5a) can be difficult to see through the device. Hanging the coin changer from the top 2 screws (5b and 5c) first will help to locate the lower mount.

  6. Tighten the mounting screws, if necessary, being careful not to over-tighten. Close the validator assembly. The lower mount is difficult to access with a large screwdriver.

  7. Remove the cassette if coins will be directly inserted into tubes. Lift it by the handle and pull toward you.

  8. Fill the cassette with coins, ensuring coins are inserted into the proper tubes.

  9. Return the filled cassette to the coin changer and ensure it is correctly seated.

  10. Restore power to the vending machine.
    Installation

Alignment

After installing the coin changer:

  1. Ensure there is a small gap (1a) of 2-4 mm (0.08-0.16 in) between the reject lever on the vending machine (1b) and the return lever on the coin changer (1c).
  2. Press the coin return lever on the vending machine door. Confirm that it fully opens the validator door on the coin changer, and then smoothly returns and fully closes.
  3. Check alignment of the coin entry chute on the vending machine, ensuring it does not impede operation of the validator door on the coin changer.
  4. Align, adjust, and test as necessary to ensure coins are properly routed before continuing.
