Product Usage Instructions
Free Air (FA) Installation:
- Ensure that the mounting surface is flat using a square or level. Do not mount the subwoofer on a curved surface to avoid damage.
- Use the provided hole cut-out template to check fitment before cutting. Tape the surrounding surface before cutting to prevent damage.
- Pre-drill the screw locations to prevent the surface from cracking or breaking screws.
- Mount the REVO FA subwoofer using the stainless steel screws provided.
- Connect the speakers to the amplifier or source unit using the waterproof connector provided. The red wire is positive, and the black wire is negative.
Vented/Ported Enclosures:
Vented enclosures are not airtight and have an additional opening known as a vent or port. Follow these instructions:
- Apply glue and use screws on all joints to ensure a secure and airtight enclosure.
- Follow the installation specifications provided for the specific model of subwoofer.

Installation Specifications
Wet Sounds REVO HP marine subwoofers have been specifically engineered to produce outstanding results in vented enclosures. REVO FA subwoofers are optimized for use in infinite baffle (commonly called free air) installations.
Free Air (FA) Installation:
REVO FA installations do not need a dedicated enclosure. A standard
installation example is a solid panel with a large cavity behind it. However,
this location will not work if this panel is a half wall and does not create a
solid separation from front to rear. When looking for a free air subwoofer
location, make sure to consider that the area behind the woofer becomes the
“box.”
- We recommend checking if the mounting surface is flat with a square or level. Mounting to a curved surface will damage the product.
- Use the provided hole cut-out template to check fitment before cutting. Tape the surrounding surface before cutting to prevent damaging the surface.
- Predrill the screw locations to prevent the surface from cracking or breaking screws.
- Mount the REVO FA subwoofer with the stainless steel screws provided.
- Connect the speakers to the amplifier or source unit with the waterproof connector provided. The red wire is positive, and the black wire is negative.
Vented/Ported Enclosures:
Vented enclosures are not air-tight and incorporate an additional opening
known as a vent or port. The vent augments the sound coming out of the
subwoofer and is in most cases capable of going lower in frequency than the
same subwoofer in a sealed box. Even though vented enclosures are not air-
tight, we recommend using glue and screws on all joints.
Enclosure Construction:
For best performance, the walls of the enclosure should be rigid and not
vibrate due to the internal pressures generated by the subwoofer. We recommend
constructing enclosures from marine-grade plywood like Birch with a minimum
thickness of 3/4”. All joints should be glued and fastened with screws. In
larger enclosures over one cubic foot, joining opposite walls with internal
bracing helps keep the enclosure as rigid as possible. Additionally, internal
joints can be covered with a small bead of silicone adhesive to ensure that
the enclosure is completely air-tight. Subwoofers should be fastened to the
enclosure with self-threading screws with adequate length and diameter,
utilizing all the mounting holes in the frame.
Since low-frequency sounds are not directional, subwoofer enclosure placement
can generally be anywhere within the boat without compromising stereo imaging.
However, placing the subwoofer enclosures in different locations can sometimes
influence bass/mid-bass response quality. Experiment with various mounting
locations before permanently mounting the woofer.
