OVERVIEW

ESCHENBACH-11446-ridoMED-teleMED-Galilean-Systems-
FIG-1

  • You have selected a quality product from the house of Eschenbach which has been produced using the latest manufacturing processes in Germany, a top-class „Made in Germany” product. We congratulate you on your choice.
  • Various pre-assembled binocular systems are available from Eschenbach:
  • Magnifying spectacles for near viewing rido-med binocular (with convergence positions)
  • Magnifying spectacles for far viewing tele-med binocular (with parallel positions)

Safety instructions

  • Danger of fire Lenses used in optical equipment may cause considerable damage through their ,burning glass effect” if used or stored incorrectly. Ensure that optical lenses are never left uncovered in the sunlight!
  • Danger of blinding or injury Never look at the sun through any optical equipment!
  • Danger of tripping when wearing magnifying spectacles or telescopic spectacles!
  • Protect your magnifying spectacles or telescopic spectacles from knocks, bangs, moisture and excessive heat!
  • When focusing the lenses, do not rotate past the limit stop!

Adjusting the binocular system

  • Anatomical adjustments are carried out by the eyeglass optician.
  • Anatomical adjustments
  1. Adjust side length.
  2. Inclination (Frame angle}: adjust to suit head position of user.

Adjustment of pupil distance (PD}

  1. Adjust the near / far PD using the scale [2] set on the eye-side of the binocular carrier [1].
    • The viewing field of both eyes must coincide, i.e. only one clear image must appear.
    • Fit the Galilei systems as closely as possible to the eye to ensure the maximum possible viewing field for the user.
  2. Once the PD has been set, lock the eyepiece holders [3] with the clips [4].

Adjust for viewing errors

  • The system can be corrected at the eye-side (far correction}.
  • For eye-side correction, use the accessories from Article No. 16221
  • (Former for spectacle glasses with 4 replacement attachment rings).
  1. Grind the correction lenses to 22 mm.

  2. Attach correction lenses using the attachment rings to the eye-side of the system.

    • If eye-side correction is not necessary, the eyepiece cups [5] can be fitted with caps [6].
If required, the adjustment supplement in the Eschenbach brochure
Adjustment of magnifying viewing aids” Article No. 162510 gives additional information.
  3. The focusing ring can be rotated [7] for accurate focusing.

    • The focusing positions in the system can be used to compensate spherical correction (Dioptric compensation 5 Dpt.).
    • The focusing ring is difficult to rotate in order to prevent the focus setting from changing by itself.

Instructions for care

  • The magnifying/telescopic spectacles should be kept in their case when not in use.
  • Clean the lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth (e. g. lens cleaning cloth), for harder to remove dirt (e. g. finger prints) use commercially available cleaning products.

The effective viewing field in the Galilei systems is dependent on the distance between the eye and the eyepiece. Therefore, the viewing field values given are average values (Viewing angle was measured at HSA [cornea-lens distance] 10 mm).
